That's all from us, folks. India have managed to keep their run of consecutive series victories going. The hosts have once again won a Test in not-so-helpful conditions for their bowlers and that should boost their confidence. They next host Australia for a 4-match Test series, starting on 23rd February. The visitors, on the other hand, will be happy with the fight but will know they could have done better. They will go back home with quite some positives. Hope you enjoyed our coverage and will join us for the future games. We bid you goodbye. Cheers!
Indian skipper and Man of the Match, Virat Kohli feels that it was a really good wicket to bat on throughout the five days and also a good toss to win. Applauds the opposition for batting impressively well in the first innings as it meant that they had to work hard for their wickets. Opines that the track was still a good one on Day 5 and it did not offer much, so the bowlers had to do the hard work. Praises Ishant Sharma for bowling well with the older ball, credits Bhuvneshwar Kumar too. Mentions that the presence of the two world class spinners allows him to attack with the pacers. Adds that he is really happy with his batting at the moment. Admits that they thought England was their biggest series but having beaten them 4-0, there is pressure on them to win against Australia. Ends by saying that the guys are really looking forward for the challenge and hopes to perform even better. Applauds the crowd for turning out in numbers as it also pumps up the players.
Bangladesh skipper, Mushfiqur Rahim feels that they created a lot of opportunities in the first innings and it would have been good if they had restricted them to a score under 550-600. Calls it a good performance from the guys as he is proud of them, especially the lower order. Opines that they played sensibly against the number one side in the world and it was a good learning curve for them. Appreciates the fact that they batted more than 100 overs in both the innings. Ends by saying that the guys played well this time and is looking forward to the games against Sri Lanka to get better.
India's batsmen rattled up quick runs in a session in their second innings and that meant Bangladesh had a mammoth target to win. Realistically, a draw was the probable result they were aiming but ended stumps with three wickets down. They did fight hard on the final day but quite a few loose shots cost them big. Mahmudullah was the only batsman to show a lengthy resolve. Bangladesh did compete well but would have wanted to take the game deep into the day. Ashwin and Jadeja were brilliant while Ishant was incisive too. They will acknowledge the fight but will also look to get better and win more games.
Despite staring at a huge score, Bangladesh didn't wilt as they battled hard with Rahim's ton leading the defiance. Shakib and Mehedi also dug in with valuable fifties. They did concede a big lead of 299 but had eaten up enough time for Kohli to shrug off the thought of enforcing the follow-on. India's pacers bowled quite well as the spinners were reduced to a supporting role for a change.
An emphatic win for India to seal the one-off Test. Right from opting to bat, the hosts hardly put a foot wrong with the batsmen piling up a massive total. The in-form skipper, Kohli's double ton was the highlight while Vijay and Saha also compiled centuries. It was a complete batting effort as everybody sans Rahul chipped in. Barring Taijul and to an extent Mehedi, the rest of the bowlers were highly ineffective for Bangladesh.

Ravichandran Ashwin To Taskin Ahmed OUT!
OUT! INDIA WIN BY 208 RUNS! Very full on leg stump, Taskin looks to flick but is struck on the pads. Big appeal for lbw and one of the close-in fielders has taken the catch as well. Erasmus thinks there is an inside edge and so denies the lbw appeal. However, as the fielder has taken it, he has to go upstairs to confirm if there was a bat involved. The soft signal is OUT. Replays show that there was no inside edge. So, it is a not out regarding the catch. Kohli then nonchalantly opts for the review, which was obvious. Ball Tracker shows that the impact is in line and that's hitting the leg stump. So, that completes a quite comfortable win for India.
What's happened there? There was an appeal for lbw but Erasmus feels there is an inside edge. The catch has been taken too. He isn't sure and decides to refer it upstairs. Soft signal is OUT. Okay, replays show that there is no bat involved. So, India decide to review the lbw eventually.

Ravindra Jadeja To Taijul Islam OUT!
OUT! GONE! Tea will now be extended with this wicket. A bit short around off, Taijul goes back to pull but miscues it straight up in the air. India's openers were the two men converging under the ball. Vijay initially was taking evasive action and then decides to go for the catch but Rahul ends up taking, almost colliding with his opening partner. All is well that ends well and India are now just one wicket away.
