That concludes our coverage for this year's Asia Cup. On one hand, two giant teams - Pakistan and Sri Lanka slipped, while on the other hand two not-so-giant-teams - Afghanistan and Bangladesh punched above their weight and reminded that they are no pushovers. Among all that, India emerged as the most dominant force and were the deserving winners. A last-ball finish in the final was the icing on the cake. On that note, we bid you farewell. Do join us for future games. Cheers!
Rohit Sharma now joins his teammates on the podium to receive the trophy. He then hands it over to the youngest member of the squad - Khaleel Ahmed. A tradition started by MS Dhoni. Some really happy faces there as the fireworks go up again. A team photograph follows and now every player is taking his turn to pose with the golden trophy. You can later check it out on their instagram or twitter accounts.
Victorious skipper, Rohit Sharma says that they played some good cricket throughout the tournament and this is a reward for that. Praises his players for handling the pressure of the final and mentions that crossing the line was a great effort. Credits Bangladesh for batting well and putting pressure on them. Lauds his spinners for pulling things back in the middle. With a team like that a captain will always look good, Rohit states with a big smile on his face. Signs off by thanking the crowd who came out in numbers to support India.
Bangladesh's skipper, Mashrafe Mortaza says that they fought till the last ball but rues the mistakes they committed while batting and fielding. Feels that they were a few runs short but praises his bowlers for giving their all. On preferring Mustafizur Rahman to bowl the penultimate over, Mortaza replies that India were scoring almost every ball and it was important for him to keep a lid on it as he didn't want the spinner to be charged.
Man of the Tournament, Shikhar Dhawan says that it was a fantastic tournament for him and he enjoyed the way he batted and hopes to carry on with same class and consistency. Adds that he enjoys to bat freely and in a mature way. Says that Rohit's consistency at the top matters to him and they balance it out (by switching roles of aggressors) and congratulates his skipper for having a great Asia Cup with the bat.
Liton Das is awarded the Man of the Match for his superb knock with the bat. No interview taken. He must be disheartened that his maiden ODI ton has gone in a losing cause. Still, a great effort by him.
Ha ha! And here comes the main man! How could he be left behind? The man behind the scenes - Coach Ravi Shastri. He cannot hide his glee. Is not too bothered about what happened in England as this is a different format. Is pleased about the intensity shown by his lads. Admits that the team was a bit flat against Hong Kong but then pulled up its socks. On the positives, he identifies the ability to keep picking up wickets while feels the batting was brilliant. But for Mr. Shastri, the department which pleased him the most was India's fielding. Raves about how the fielders used to dive here and there to save crucial runs. Praises Rohit Sharma for his batting and even more, his captaincy skills. Especially, in this final, where he managed to get his team pick up all 10 wickets even after Bnagladesh were 120/0. And now finally, the presentation...
Bhuvneshwar Kumar is up for grabs as well. He says that the game against Hong Kong was a wake-up call for him. It was needed as he was coming from an injury. On wickets like these, he says that one needs to bowl tight lines and lengths, without giving any room to the batsmen and induce mistakes. On his combination with Bumrah, he says that the latter is an amazing bowler with his stocks rapidly rising.
Ravindra Jadeja is the next in line. Jaddu says that he was out of international cricket for almost 15 months and was not feeling too good about it. In hibernation, he says that he was just thinking about what he could do to come back into this side. And when he did get the chance, he did not want to lose it. Stresses further that he desperately wanted to prove himself.
Kuldeep Yadav now. He says that he was just asked by Jadhav to back himself while playing his shots and be careful while running. On the wicket, he says that it was a very good one to bat on. A bit on the slower side, he reckons. Feels he bowled really well and the batsmen found it difficult to pick his line. Later on, he corrected his length and got rewarded. On his batting, he says he has got lots of runs in First Class cricket, so he is a batting all-rounder.
Plenty of people to talk to tonight. Kedar Jadhav is the first of them. He says that he has been in this situation for quite a number of times in the last few months. Stresses that he was never under pressure as he was confident about the batting of Bhuvneshwar and Kuldeep. On his hamstring, he says he will need to assess it in a couple of days. And now, the million dollar question. 'Are you a batsman who can bowl or a bowler who can bat?' asks Kevin Pietersen with a wide grin. 'I think I am a batsman who can bowl', replies a sheepish Kedar.
Bangladesh must be praised for their efforts today. First their move to send Mehidy Hasan to open with Liton Das worked wonders, although the batting that followed disappointed. In the field, they managed to build pressure with accurate bowling but somewhere not having a target in excess of 250 proved to be their undoing. India also planned their chase with near perfection as they never allowed the required run rate to jump over 6, except on the fifth ball of the penultimate over. Rubel Hossain was the star with the ball and one can feel that their spinners let them down by not providing regular breakthroughs.
With MS Dhoni dismissed and Kedar Jadhav unable to move freely, the Indian team management decided to call him back and sent Bhuvneshwar Kumar to partner Ravindra Jadeja. In a way, that turned out to be the masterstroke as the pair put together a 45-run partnership to narrow down the target. Things later on got too close for comfort as Bangladesh showed great resolve by sticking in there. However, they didn't have enough runs on the board and in the hindsight not batting those 9 balls in their innings has hurt them badly.
Mahmudullah struck in the 31st over to remove Karthik and post that Kedar Jadhav came out with positive intent. But then he pulled his hamstring and it resulted in a slow rotation of strike. That pressure got to Dhoni and in an attempt to keep the asking rate under check, he played an uncharacteristic rash shot to get out off Mustafizur Rahman's bowling.
Seventh Asia Cup title for India! And they had to sweat hard to earn it. Chasing a target is never easy in a final and it looked a bit tough when they lost Dhawan and Rayudu quite cheaply. Rohit, however, showed his form and kept on scoring from one end. Along with Dinesh Karthik, the Indian skipper stitched in a partnership but once he fell, Bangladesh sniffed a chance. Although, MS Dhoni accompanied Karthik after that and steadied the nerves with a vital 54-run stand. These two planned the chase very nicely and at that stage, India were in control of the chase.
Fireworks all around the stadium! Smiles in the Indian dressing room. Mashrafe Mortaza is dejected. Bangladesh came close but have suffered yet another narrow defeat. What a game! Worthy of a finale. It went right down to the wire and India will be more relieved than happy to pull it off. This is also their 700th international win.

Mahmudullah To Kedar Jadhav
INDIA WIN BY 3 WICKETS! Mahmudullah fires in a full ball down the leg side, Jadhav swings his bat across the line but misses. However, the ball kisses his pads and races away towards fine leg. They cross for a leg bye and that will be it. INDIA ARE THE ASIA CUP CHAMPIONS!
Mahmudullah pulls out. Mind games.

Scores are levelled! Flighted and on off, Yadav tries to sweep but misses. It goes off his pads towards backward point. Rahim runs across to his left and the batsmen cross over. Given as a run.

DOT BALL! Mahmudullah bowls this with a slinging action. Darts it in full around off, Kuldeep pushes it out to covers.

Excellent shot! Kuldeep goes down on one knee and slog sweeps it over mid-wicket. It falls in no man's land in the deep and they fetch a couple of runs. 2 needed off 3 balls.

Mahmudullah To Kedar Jadhav
They are doing it in singles. Smart. Bangladesh have their fielders on the boundary line for Jadhav and he just flicks it through square leg for a run.

Mahmudullah To Kuldeep Yadav
Sensible. Calm. Shows no pressure. Full and flighted around off, Kuldeep eases his drive through mid off and collects a single. More importantly for India, Kedar Jadhav is back on strike.
It indeed is Soumya Sarkar. He bowled one in the Nidahas Trophy final and conceded a six off the final ball. Redemption time? 6 needed off 6. Kuldeep Yadav on strike. Hold onto your breath, folks. Scratch all that. Mashrafe Mortaza has a change of heart. He has given the ball to Mahmudullah. Maybe, he got reminded of that final. Big gamble. Conference going on. Pressure written all over. Here we go...
