So that's it from us for this game. Australia have finally got back to winning ways and they will hope to continue with the same momentum. With that loss, India have dropped to number two in the ICC ODI rankings but a win in the next game would bring them back on top. Hope you liked our coverage. Join us back for the final ODI on 1st October in Nagpur at 1330 local (0800 GMT). Until then, goodbye and cheers.
Man of the Match, David Warner says that it always feels fantastic to get smile back on the Australian faces. Reckons that he did not get his chance in the past to play ODIs in India but he enjoyed every bit this time as he knows the wickets here quite well. Mentions that they had their mind set on batting deep and they did that really well. Mentions that winning helps in gaining momentum and hopes that this helps them as well.
Steve Smith with a big smile on his face says that it was a nice result. Praises Warner and Finch, who were spectacular and set up the platform for them to get to 330. Mentions that they lost a few wickets again but Handscomb played a handy cameo. Admits that they were too wide with the new ball but pulled things back nicely in the end. On Warner, he says that it's always nice to watch the southpaw, especially in the ODIs, where he has got better with the time and is in spectacular run of form.
Virat Kohli says that the Australians were going strong at the 30-over mark and he was really happy to restrict them around 330. Mentions that his openers did well but none after them could capitalize on the start. Credits Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Shami for bowling really well in the second spell. Informs that spinners might have their off days and this was one of them. Applauds Australia for playing a better brand of cricket today. Adds that bowling slow was the only way to bowl on this wicket. Ends by saying that Australia was the better team on the day.
The Australian bowling lacked discipline at the start but made up for it later on. Kane Richardson led the pace attack, picking up another 3-fer in the series. He was superb with his off-paced deliveries and deceived the batsmen more often than not. Cummins and Coulter-Nile provided a good hand to him with 3 wickets between them and also with some superb death bowling. Head chipped in with some tidy overs too, which kept the scoreboard pressure on the opposition while Zampa got the better of dangerous Pandya once again. Presentation coming up...
Australia came back well after the initial phase but a 78-run stand between Jadhav and Pandya got the chase back on track. The latter departed but it didn't dent the hosts as local lad, Pandey stood tall and rose a 61-run partnership with Jadhav to keep the home side in the hunt. But, both these batsmen fell within 3 deliveries and it paved the way back for the Aussies. They made full use of this as Dhoni couldn't finish things off and the tail couldn't create anything spectacular.
Finally the monkey is off Australia's back as they have ended their winless run away from home. India started the chase superbly. The openers were off to a flier. They added 106 runs with both the batsmen completing their half centuries. Rahane was the first one to fall as he tried to cut loose whereas Sharma fell next due to a confusion in the middle between him and the skipper.
