That's a wrap - We move to Chennai now for the third and final ODI of the series, which will take place on Saturday, June 20. The match will get underway at 8 am GMT (1.30 pm IST). For now, you can switch tabs and follow the action from the second Test between England and New Zealand, or tune in to the Women's T20 World Cup, where India are taking on the Netherlands, and later in the day, South Africa are set to face Pakistan. Until then, it's goodbye from us. Cheers!
PLAYER OF THE MATCH - For the second game running, India's captain Shubman Gill takes home the award. He scored 154 runs off 110 balls with his innings studded with 22 fours and two sixes. Gill says that his body is a bit sore and he got a lot of cramps, but he is feeling better now. Adds that he is feeling confident and is happy to contribute to the team. Reckons that it wouldn't have mattered even if they had bowled first, as the wicket didn't change much. He further says that their pace bowlers are doing a great job and ends by saying that the team is in a pretty good space.
The captain of Afghanistan - Hashmatullah Shahidi admits they were not good enough on the day and refuses to put the result down solely to the toss. He feels they did not bowl well, particularly in the first 20 overs, allowing India to seize the momentum and dictate terms from the outset. On sending Darwish Rasooli ahead of him, Hashmatullah shares that Rasooli was struggling with cramps, but he wanted to bat, and the team management backed him to do so, given his ability to strike the ball cleanly. Looking ahead, Shahidi says there have been plenty of learnings from what has been a tough series so far. He remains hopeful that they can put in a better performance in the final ODI in Chennai.
Time for the presentation ceremony...
A quick word - Arshdeep Singh says that it feels good that the results are coming their way. He says that he is happy to see new faces in the bowling lineup. Mentions that he wasn't aware that he was on a hat-trick, and he knows it now. Reckons that they follow what is best for the team, and the results follow. He ends by saying that everyone who comes here is confident and they are hungry for success, and everyone tries to enjoy the game.
Gill and Kishan called the shots - After Afghanistan won the toss and opted to bowl first, they were sent on a leather hunt. Shubman Gill picked up right where he left off in the previous game, while Ishan Kishan took his time early on before cutting loose. The pair put India firmly in control with a commanding 224-run partnership. Rashid Khan looked the most likely to make something happen for the visitors, but left the field due to some discomfort. By the time he returned, the damage had already been done. Those who followed after the departure of the two set batters could not quite provide the finish the home side were hoping for. Not many times do you see a side post 402 and still feel they left a few runs out there, but that was very much the case here.
A mountain too steep to scale - In Afghanistan's batting reply, Rahmanullah Gurbaz threw caution to the wind, but not for long enough. Whatever momentum the tourists gained while he was at the crease quickly evaporated after his dismissal, and the innings hit a roadblock. The inability to keep the scoreboard ticking meant the required rate kept climbing. India went into the game with just five specialist bowling options because Nitish Kumar Reddy was unavailable due to a thigh issue, but Afghanistan never really managed to put that attack under any pressure. Rahmat Shah offered stubborn resistance, but it was academic and nothing more.
Series secured - India have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series with one match still to play. Afghanistan were competitive in the series opener, but here in Lucknow, it turned out to be a one-sided affair. The visitors won the toss, but very little else went their way thereafter as India effectively batted them out of the contest.

Prince Yadav To Rahmat Shah OUT!
OUT! CAUGHT! That's the game. Darwish Rasooli will not return to bat. India win by 170 runs and seal the series by going 2-0 up in this three-match series. Short ball does the trick for Prince Yadav. He bangs it short, on middle and leg, Rahmat Shah swivels and looks to pull it, but doesn't time it well. The ball goes flat towards deep fine leg. Gurnoor Brar moves a bit forward and dives to take a magnificent catch just above the ground.

Leg bye! Angled in at the hips, on a short of a length. Sami is beaten on the tickle. A leg bye is taken as the ball drops behind off the pads.

Oh, that could have been nasty. Bowled on a good length, over off. Bilal Sami was perhaps expecting the short ball and ducked under it. The ball kicked up a bit, and it went under his helmet as he took his eyes off it.

Gurnoor Brar To Bilal Sami
Not a lot going the bowler's way in that appeal. Yorker attempted by Brar but it comes out as a low full toss, swinging back in, on leg. Sami has a heave across the line but is beaten on the inside edge and wears it on the back pad. It rolls behind to deep third and the batters cross over. A prolonged appeal from Gurnoor but it is turned down. Shreyas Iyer wants to take a chance and he takes the review. No bat involved but on Ball Tracking, the impact is umpire's call and the ball is going past the leg pole. India lose their review.
Review time. LBW not given. Shreyas Iyer has sent it upstairs to have a check. The replays show that it was missing the leg stump by a fair margin. The on-field decision stays NOT OUT.
