That is it from this game! Now over to Bristol to find out who takes the T20I series. England were excellent today. They had plans for how they are going to play and executed them well. India on the other hand, did fight well but ended up being second best. The series is turning out to be how it was supposed to, a very exciting one and the excitement will continue on the 8th at 0200 local (0100 GMT). Till then, goodbye and take care.
Man of the Match, Alex Hales, says it was a much-needed win for them and he feels good after playing this innings. Admits he had to come up with a plan against Kuldeep as he has not faced him a lot before. Mentions they have good strikers coming all the way till the bottom and they all came good today. Credits the way the bowlers bowled today.
England skipper, Eoin Morgan, says the new ball bowlers set the tone for them upfront. Admits they were very happy with the total they had to chase. Credits the way Alex Hales played and he along with the rest built small partnerships which were very important.
India skipper, Virat Kohli, says he felt this total would have been a challenging one. Credits the way England batted. Reckons 15 runs more would have made a difference. Adds their batting Powerplay was not a good one. Ends by saying they are looking forward to the game in Bristol.
39 was needed from the last 4 and that is when Jonny Bairstow decided to step on the pedal. He hit two towering maximums of Kuldeep Yadav which saw the hosts needing only 23 from the last 3. But two brilliant overs by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umesh Yadav, with the latter taking Jonny's wicket, saw the Englishmen needing 12 in the last over. However, a biggie and boundary from Hales' bat from the first two balls of Kumar's over settled it.
Umesh Yadav struck twice in the Powerplay sending back both the openers. Chahal then struck in his first over and England were in trouble at 44 for 3. Morgan and Hales then joined forces and started to rebuild the innings. The two played themselves in and ensured the required run rate was always in tact. The duo added 48 and the home side were cruising. But a brilliant catch by Dhawan then, once again brought India back into the game.
We have a decider then! Willey did hit the winning runs but it was Hales who was the hero for them with an unbeaten half ton. He walks off to a standing ovation from his teammates and he deserves every bit of it. After bowling out India for a decent total, England got off to a flying start as Roy plundered 14 from the first over. At that time, it looked like the hosts would run away with the game but it wasn't to be.

1
Bhuvneshwar Kumar To David Willey
That is it! Willey hits the winning runs! It took just 4 balls for them to score the runs they needed in the last over. Slightly short on middle, Willey rocks back and pulls it through mid-wicket for the winning runs. ENGLAND WIN BY 5 WICKETS AND LEVEL THE SERIES 1-1!
19.3
1
Bhuvneshwar Kumar To Alex Hales
SCORES ARE LEVEL! Kumar bowls it on the pads, Hales flicks it through mid-wicket and gets to the other end.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar To Alex Hales
FOUR! 10 from the first two balls and only two needed now. Another poor ball, length and down the leg side. Hales helps it on its way fine down the leg side and the ball races to the fence.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar To Alex Hales
SIX! Right in the slot and Hales has probably landed the knockout punch here. First boundary that Kumar has conceded. It is full and on middle, Hales clears his front leg and clears the straight boundary. He crosses his fifty with that, his 8th in the T20Is. His job is not done yet. 6 more needed from 5 balls.

A single to end the over! 12 needed now. The important thing for England is that Hales is on strike as he squeezes this through covers for a run.

Umesh Yadav To Alex Hales
FOUR! Much, much-needed this! Excellent by Hales. He steps out and makes the yorker into a full toss. He slaps it through covers and the ball races away. 13 more needed now from 8 balls.

2
Umesh Yadav To Alex Hales
NOT OUT! But still no boundary! Another yorker on off, Hales does really well to jam it out through backward point. There is a man in the deep who runs to his left and collect it. The batsmen go for a second as the Rohit fires a throw to the keeper. Dhoni doesn't collect it cleanly but still whips the bails off. He runs after it and throws it back at the strikers end. The players appeal and the umpire takes it upstairs. Replays show that Dhoni dislodged the bails with his hands. Two runs added.
A run out appeal has been referred. Hales is the man in question but he does not seem confident.

Umesh Yadav To Alex Hales
Wow! Is this is the same Umesh Yadav who I saw in the Indian T20 League. NO. Another yorker outside off, Hales tries to clip but misses. Dhoni has a shy at his end but misses.

Umesh Yadav To David Willey
Very full on middle, Willey tries to flick but gets a leading edge through point for a run. 19 from 10, need a boundary now England.

Umesh Yadav To David Willey
A run out chance missed! But it is a dot! Exceptional bowling! A pin-point yorker on off, Willey jams it out. He wants a run but is sent back by his partner. Umesh runs towards the ball but fails to pick it up. Had he picked it up, it would have been close.
Umesh Yadav comes to bowl the penultimate over.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar To David Willey
He does! 20 needed from the last 2. Just 3 from this over. Lovely stuff. Another yorker on the pads. Willey fails to dig it out. The ball brushes the pads and goes towards square leg for a leg bye. Kumar has given just 7 in his 3 overs.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar To David Willey
Excellent from Kumar! He follows Willey as he makes room and bowls it full on his pads. David tries to flick but misses to get hit on the pads. Can Kumar end it well? He needs to if India are to stay in this game.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar To Alex Hales
Hales tries to move around the crease to upset the bowler. But Kumar sticks to bowling it on a length and on the stumps. Hales guides it to short third man for a run.

A nasty delivery first up! A bumper on middle, Willey tries to defend but the ball hits the gloves and goes onto the leg side. A single.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar To Jonny Bairstow OUT!
OUT! The game is not over as Kumar and Kuldeep provide India a glimmer of hope! Jonny Bairstow falls in a similar manner as Virat Kohli. A short ball on the body of the batsman. Bairstow swivels and pulls it towards Kuldeep Yadav at fine leg. He comes running in and takes a sliding catch. Jonny though walks back after doing his job. 23 more needed in 17.
David Willey is the new man in.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar is back on.
