Right then! That's all from this game! Excellent performance from India Women. The multi-format series scoreline is 8-6 now with England Women ahead and India Women need to win the final game to share the series. The third T20I will be played on Wednesday, 14th July 2021 at 1830 local (1730 GMT). Do join us then. Cheers and take care.
Deepti Sharma, the PLAYER OF THE MATCH, says that it was important to get partnerships and the mindset was to get as many runs as possible. Tells that her plan was to bowl as many dot balls as she can and cut the boundaries.
Harmanpreet Kaur, the India skipper, says that it was a great effort by the whole team and she is happy with the win. Adds that they got a very good start with the bat but in the middle, they did not get many runs and that is why she went to give the momentum. Says that the bowlers bowled well and the field placement was very important. Tells that the fielding was outstanding. Goes onto say they always want to win wherever they go and they are getting used to the bubble. Credits the support staff for keeping them motivated and the whole unit is doing really well.
Heather Knight, the England skipper, says that they were very good throughout the game and they got off to a flying start and they are disappointed not to get the win. Adds that her run out was unfortunate and it was not intentional from Deepti Sharma. Adds that losing her and Beaumont put pressure on the lower order. Tells that they have got a strong batting line-up and they should have won this game. Goes onto say that they cannot lose the series but they want to win. Credits India for playing really well.
Now, now, where did England Women lose the game? They were cruising when Tammy Beaumont and Heather Knight were at the crease. They needed around 6 runs per over when Beaumont fell but when Knight too departed in the same over, things changed. Amy Jones hit a few lusty blows but not enough and there was basically nothing from the lower order and they have crashed to a defeat. England will be very disappointed with the effort. Stay tuned for the presentation ceremony...
India Women were off to a good start as they got rid of Danni Wyatt and Natalie Sciver in quick succession but then the wickets dried up and the runs were coming quickly for England but once Deepti Sharma got rid of Tammy Beaumont, things changed. They kept picking up regular wickets courtesy of their slow bowlers who were simply terrific in this game. Sneh Rana was economical, Poonam Yadav was sensational in her spell while Deepti Sharma was the one who changed the game. Overall, an excellent bowling performance.
Excellent win from India Women! They will be really pleased and the multi-tour scoreline now reads England 8, India 6. They cannot win the series but they have a chance to level it now. This is an excellent bowling performance. England Women will be disappointed as they had this game in the bag but they have faltered.
