Right then, that is all we have from this Super Friday.  We will be back on Saturday, 26th of November for another action-packed triple-header day. The proceedings will start with Deccan Gladiators going up against New York Strikers. That game will start at 5.30 pm IST (12 pm GMT). Our build-up, as you know, will start in advance. So do join us for the same. Till then, it's goodbye and cheers!
Sikandar Raza, the skipper of The Chennai Braves says that they were pretty satisfied with the start they got as Malan got them off to a good start. He Credits Michael Pepper for some of the shots he played and then applauds Carlos Brathwaite for the way he delivered with the bat and ball. Says that players like Pepper and Patrick Dooley have not played a lot of franchise cricket but he feels that they all made an impact. Mentions that he wants to keep it simple in T10 and hit the ball as hard as he can with the bat in hand and with the ball, he tries to get out of the over as early as possible.
Carlos Brathwaite is the Player of the Match for his exceptional knock of 44 from 19 balls and four wickets with the ball. He starts by saying that it feels good and feels unbelievable at the moment. Adds that it is very pleasing to put in such a performance after putting work behind the scenes. Hopes to be consistent in this competition. Shares that they will look to get some momentum now after having the first win on the board. Ends by saying that they had a good practice session in the morning with good vibes and the team talk was what happened in the last game does not define us.
Time for the Presentation...
Benny Howell is in for a chat now. He says that they were in a winning position in the last game but they did not turn up in this game. Adds that they did not finish well with the ball in the back end and never got going with the bat. Feels that in T10 it is all about hitting more sixes than opponents and preventing them from hitting 4s and 6s. Ends by saying that they have a day off on Saturday so they will relax and get back to the winning mode from Sunday.
Bangla Tigers, well, they were good in patches but failed to win those crucial moments in the game. With the ball, they let things drift away in the last few overs even though Rohan Mustafa and Matheesha Pathirana bowled well. They had the batting though to chase this total down. However Zazai and Lewis departed early and though Iftikhar Ahmed kept them in the game with some lusty blows but it was too much for one guy to do as rest of the batters failed to step up.
Carlos Brathwaite was clearly the star of the show! The Chennai Braves had a forgetful first game with the bat and in this game too, they were struggling at one stage before Carlos Brathwaite decided to take matters into his hands. He scored 44 runs in 19 balls and took The Chennai Braves score to 126. Malan too made a decent contribution in this game with 27 off just 15 balls. The bowling unit of The Chennai Braves then stepped up and with the quality they had in their ranks, it was always going to be a tough task for the Tigers. Raza and Stone bowled quite well in their two overs but once again it was the big man, Carlos Brathwaite who two big wickets of Munro and Cutting in consecutive deliveries to turn the tide in his side's favour. He finished with four wickets and has taken his team to a big and very important win here.
That's it! The Chennai Braves have won this game! Matheesha Pathirana is not fit to bat and that means that The Chennai Braves have registered a comprehensive win here! The trend of successfully defending the target continues as the Tigers have once again fallen short in their run-chase.
No more participation from the injured player and there's absent hurt written against the name of Matheesha Pathirana.
