That's all we have from this match. But don't go anywhere as the second match of the evening involving India and Bangladesh will kick off in a short while. Do join us in a short while at 1100 GMT (1900 local). Cheers!
Meg Lanning, the Australian captain, says that it is a sigh of relief as they manage to win this one. On losing early wickets, she replies that she knew that the target was a smaller one and hence they felt that they could take a few overs to settle. Mentions that their bowling was really good but admits that the fielding can get better. On the crowd coming to watch the game, Lanning thanks the supporters and finishes by saying that she is looking forward to the next few games.
Chamari Atapattu, the Sri Lankan captain, says that she tried to play her natural game and feels that if she had batted a few more overs, the total could've been different. On the total and defending the same, Atapattu tells that she was very confident about her bowlers but unfortunately it didn't go their way. Tells that when they took 3 early wickets, the side got pumped up but could not win the game.
RACHAEL HAYNES IS THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH! Says that it was much easier batting out there when she walked in and knowing that one of the best batters in the world is at the other end made her job easy. Constructing partnerships was the key and she feels that it's all about trusting your game. Mentions that by the time she got out to bat, the conditions had eased out and it was not swinging much.
Sri Lanka would be proud of their efforts! They pushed Australia to the brink and had they not dropped plenty of catches, this match could have gone in their favour. Still, there are many positives for them. The batting of their skipper has always been up to the mark but the way Nilakshi de Silva batted and Udeshika Prabodhani bowled with the new ball would have pleased them. Udeshika, in fact, used the conditions superbly and got the ball to move both ways.
Great recovery from 10/3 and Australia have managed to open their account in the tournament. After early hiccups, Meg Lanning and Rachael Haynes joined forces and threaded a match winning 95-run stand. Rachael, in particular, was brilliant in her approach and never bogged down under pressure. Her knock made sure that the asking rate never got out of hands and eventually Australia crossed the line with Meg batting through.

DROPPED! Yet another chance shelled. You just cannot afford to keep dropping catches while defending a low total. Short in length and wide outside off, Lanning edges her attempted drive but the keeper Anushka fails to hold on.

W
Shashikala Siriwardene To Rachael Haynes OUT!
OUT! Stumped! Rachael runs out of luck but she has done her job efficiently. Siriwardene slows it up in the air and tempts the batter with flight. Haynes skips down the track and tries for a big shot but it lands and spins away to beat her bat. Anushka Sanjeewani does the rest. The 95-run stand has been broken but it's a little too late. Australia need to ensure that they don't lose two set batters like the last match. 18 needed off 17 balls.
Bowling change. Shashikala Siriwardene (3-0-10-1) is back into the attack
