So that's it from us! Hope you enjoyed our coverage of what has been a thrilling encounter. It were the Australians who took the ODI series with great ease, but it were the Men in Blue who emphatically won the T20I series! Now, Australia are traveling to New Zealand and the Indians will host the Sri Lankans in a few days. We look forward to your company in future. Take care and cheers!
MS DHONI - (When asked about his bowlers) He says that he thinks he has to give a lot of credit to the bowlers. Continues by saying that the batsmen were doing well in the ODIs but the bowlers have done a fantastic job in the last few games. He emphasizes that he needed that extra 5-10 percent from them and they have given him just that. (On the team for the T20I World Cup) He mentions a couple of changes might be made here and there but the side will more or less be the same. He stresses on the fact of having players who can bat and bowl. Also adds that overs from Raina, Kohli, Yuvraj always help. Concludes by saying Kohli and Rohit are batting well and it is important for them to enjoy this time and their game as sometimes they won't score a lot of runs.
SHANE WATSON is the Man of the Match - (On the Indian performance) Says that they are certainly special and they played well in the ODIs as well. Adds saying they have world class players and did quite well. (On captaincy) He proudly says it was a privilege to come back into the side and captain. Continues by saying he was glad to be able to contribute and help the team and that it is a good feeling to do so. Says he is also enjoying his batting. He says Khawaja is playing really well and in fact, he was quite shocked and couldn't believe he got out. (On the road to the World Cup) Replies saying they are looking at the right combinations and they certainly have world class players in the side and are looking to see where everyone fits.
VIRAT KOHLI is the Player of the Series - He says he feels pretty good to get avenge the ODI series defeat. Is really happy with the way they played in the series with both bat and ball. Goes on to say he is disappointed that he wasn't able to finish the game off, but gives credit to Raina and Yuvraj for doing that. (On Sharma) Kohli says he is a big fan of his batting. Says once he gets going there's no stopping him. Gives big credit to him for the way he hits the ball. Adds that he and Shikhar Dhawan are doing a fantastic job. (On being favourites for the WT20) He says he'd like to think so. Concludes by saying that they still have a few games to go before that and will look to do well and go from strength to strength.
After Rohit Sharma departed, it was Suresh Raina who walked out and took over the reigns. Taking the attack to the opposition, playing his shots fearlessly. He, with the valiant support of Yuvraj Singh, saw his team through to the finish line. Earlier, it was Watson with a brilliant ton who powered the hosts to a huge total. But the Indians rose to the challenge and came out on top. They are now on top of the T20I rankings as well. Australia were poor with the ball again. They could never put the reigns on the scoring, apart from a couple of overs towards the end, when Watson strut his stuff. In the end, Indian experience hurt the Aussie blokes.
What a thrilling end to this match and this series! India have whitewashed the Aussies in their own backyard, chasing down the huge total set in front of them. Again, it was Rohit Sharma who got the Men in Blue off to a flying start, attacking the Aussie bowling and kept the scoreboard ticking. Laying the foundation once again, he was accompanied by the run-machine, Virat Kohli, who continued to do what he has been doing in the series so far.
