That's all from this game but we are not done yet for the day. A couple of more warm-up games coming your way, India versus England and New Zealand versus Australia, both starting at 6 pm local (2 pm GMT). Please switch tabs and join us for all the action.
For Afghanistan, it didn't go as planned. Given the conditions of the UAE and their experience of playing in this part of the world, everyone thought that the Afghans would be too hot to handle for the Saffas but that was not the case. In the beginning, it appeared that their spinners had things under control and to be honest, they bowled decently too but towards the end, Afghanistan conceded 15-20 runs extra. As far as their batting is concerned, once they lost both their openers early, there wasn't much spark. This is one area where Afghanistan will have to show improvement if they have to trouble the other teams with their bowling.
A valuable outing for South Africa and they will be very pleased with the kind of workout they got! In terms of batting, South Africa were a bit slow to pick up but a decent finish meant that they had a par score on the board. The Proteas then utilized five bowlers and all of them were brilliant. Tabraiz Shamsi, as expected, was the best bowler with a  3-wicket haul. With Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje not participating, South Africa would believe that they have a good backup and depth in their bowling.
