Inn Break
Right then! That is all we have from this match. The deciding match of this ODI series will be played on Sunday, the 16th of December at the same venue, Sabina Park. That match will begin at 8:00 pm IST (2:30 pm GMT). The buildup for that will begin much sooner. Do join us then. Cheers!
Paul Stirling, the Irish skipper, says that this win means a lot and he is delighted to see how they responded after what was a tough loss. About his catch, says that he is lucky to have grabbed onto it and praises Andy McBrine for the way he bowled. Says that Craig Young has been bowling well and he is getting a lot out of the wicket with the new ball. Mentions that Harry Tector has been in fantastic form and he cannot praise him enough. About the decider, says that they have struggled to win a series in the past but they are looking for consistency from the lads moving forward as they have a lot to improve on.
The Windies skipper, Kieron Pollard says that they knew the toss will be a massive factor as there is a bit of moisture here. Adds that they found themselves in trouble again with the bat but this time, they couldn't recover in the middle phase. Mentions that there are no excuses and as a batter, he takes the responsibility too. Praises Romario Shepherd and Odean Smith for the way they batted and played their natural games in a tough situation. Informs that they haven't yet spoken about changing their batting order but that can change with time.
Andy McBrine, the PLAYER OF THE MATCH, says that the injury is fine and he is happy to be out in the middle. Adds that the wicket was a bit tacky so suited his bowling style. Says that they spoke about partnerships in the middle phase and is happy to have got it. Mentions that this win means a lot to the team given what has been going on in the camp.
... The Presentation Ceremony ...
Boy, Ireland sure will be happy with the rain but in all fairness, even without the rain, they looked to be right on top of proceedings. Paul Stirling and William Porterfield came out with intent and got their team the start they required. With a target like this, it's important to get ahead and then you can just knock around. After losing both their openers, the partnership between Andy McBrine and Harry Tector was the key. Tector then carried on till the end and brought up yet another half-century in his young ODI career. Pretty straightforward victory in the end for the visitors and there's all to play for in the final ODI.
The hosts were always going to be second favorites with the score they put on but they didn't do themselves any favors with the ball either. They conceded runs at a run-a-ball in the first 10 overs and even though they picked up a couple of wickets, West Indies were on the back foot as there weren't many runs to defend. Akeal Hosein was taken on today and couldn't do his job of stemming the flow of runs. He did get two wickets but it wasn't enough and the other spinner, Roston Chase bowled much better. But it was their pace bowling that just couldn't put enough pressure on the opposition and there wasn't much left in the pitch either. All in all an underwhelming performance from the hosts.
Well, these days the world isn't short of drama and there was drama at Sabina Park in this game as well. With Ireland in the driving seat, they lost their fourth wicket and just as things were getting interesting, rain played spoilsport. With still 73 runs required, the hosts would have felt that they had a chance but it wasn't meant to be. With the equation being just 11 needed off 28 balls after we finally got play in, it was Ireland's game and they got over the line with ease. Huge 10 points for them in the Cricket World Cup Super League points table and the series is leveled at 1-1!

Darted on the pads. Worked to deep square leg. 'Push push push push' says Tector but there is only a single there.
We will have more action! 4.4 overs will be bowled and 11 runs is what Ireland need to get. The players are walking out now. Harry Tector and George Dockrell take the crease and Roston Chase will finish the over. Also, Powerplay 3 has begun as this is effectively a 36-over innings.
Update 3:25 am IST (9:55 pm GMT, previous day) - Sadly, the rain is hanging around for a bit longer. Overs are going to be lost and D/L will certainly come into play. But for now, let's just hope the rain stops so we can resume play.
Update 3:05 am IST (9:35 pm GMT, previous day) - Live pictures from the ground show that it is a slight drizzle at the moment and the groundstaff might be taking the covers off and start moping. Also, the D/L par score currently is 131 but Ireland are miles ahead of it.
Update 2:41 am IST (9:11 pm GMT, previous day) - Oi. The drizzle has gotten quite heavy now and the players are off. The covers are on but as I type this, the rain has died down again. Shouldn't be a long delay. Ugh, more covers are being brought back again.

Roston Chase To Harry Tector
Tector survives a close LBW call! So close yet so far for Roston Chase and West Indies. This is pushed fuller, around off and the ball turns in. Harry Tector is pushed on the back foot as he looks to work it leg side. He misses and gets pinged on the pads and the hosts appeal. The umpire shakes his head. Review is taken by Pollard. UltraEdge shows there's no bat involved and Ball Tracker confirms that the impact is umpire's call. Even though the ball is hitting the stumps, the decision will not be overturned.

Drinks break! The last wicket might make things interesting but the Irish should chase this down now. They have done all the hardwork and should chase it down with overs to spare. The hosts would look to trigger a collapse just like they did in the first ODI. An interesting finish coming up. Also, George Dockrell joins Harry Tector in the middle.

Akeal Hosein To Curtis Campher OUT!
OUT! BOWLED! Is there some life still left in this match? This is pushed through quicker by Akeal Hosein, around off. Curtis Campher backs away and looks to play the cut shot but the ball just skids on with the arm and stays a bit low as well. Campher fails to get any bat on it and the ball crashes into off and middle. Hosein has provided the much-needed breakthrough for West Indies.

Drinks break! This has been a good start for the Irish. They have lost their openers but a huge chunk of their target has been taken off. One strong partnership from here will take them very close to a victory. West Indies need to get a couple of quick wickets but they first need to stop the flow of singles to put the batters under a bit of pressure. Also, Romario Shepherd is brought into the attack.
