Even after the departure of Chris Lynn, Matthew Short went about his business with Adam Hose at the other end. The latter took matters into his own hands towards the back end of the innings and helped his side post a challenging total on the board. Adelaide Strikers bowlers too stepped up and backed their batters to register a convincing win.
In their pursuit of 185, Sydney Sixers were off to a shaky start losing Kurtis Patterson and James Vince in the third over of their innings. Josh Philippe, Moises Henriques and Jordan Silk did get off to decent starts but neither of them was able to take the game deep. With the required run-rate climbing with every dot ball, it proved to be tall ask to chase this daunting total and eventually falling short by 51 runs.
