Wahab Riaz, the Zalmi skipper, says that there is a lot of pressure during a match and the team played really well. Goes onto say that he wants this batting line-up to keep going. Goes onto say that as a captain, they lost against Lahore last year and that still hurts but adds that they needed to show character against a team like Karachi and that is what they did. States that they play matches almost everyday and both teams will be under pressure in Eliminator 2.
Hazratullah Zazai, the PLAYER OF THE MATCH, says that he is pleased with his performance. Adds that he wanted to continue his form and win the game for his team. Tells that he has confidence in himself. Goes onto say that they were going according to the target and he wanted to make it easier for the rest of the batters.
Imad Wasim, the Karachi Kings skipper, says that they played very good but they were 10-20 runs short. Adds that the wicket was a good one, but Peshawar bowled very good and then Zazai played really well. Says to their fans that they will come back stronger in the next season.
Karachi Kings tried hard with the ball. They came at them pretty hard but they were taken apart by Hazratullah Zazai at the start but Thisara Perera changed the game with a couple of quick wickets including Zazai's. They did slow things down towards the end but some loose bowling let the game slip and they have bowed out of the tournament. Mohammad Amir had a tough Abu Dhabi leg of the PSL. He did pick Malik but it was too late while Noor Ahmed had a tough game. They did try hard but they needed more from their bowlers. Their fielding let them down in the last over as they could not take their catches and they were punished.
What a match we have had! It is Peshawar Zakmi who end up in Eliminator 2 while Karachi Kings have been knocked out. The Zalmi were off to a terrific start with Hazratullah Zazai going bonkers at the start. He was well supported by Kamran Akmal before he fell. Zazai though continued and blasted 77 before he holed out. Shoaib Malik though stayed till the end and took Peshawar Zalmi close. They lost some wickets towards the end but the two Windies' batters, Sherfane Rutherford and Rovman Powell took them home.
