Earlier, New Zealand declared their innings, setting an imposing target of 531 runs for the West Indies after a rapid 14-over spell that added 49 runs while losing 4 wickets to cross the desired 500-run lead. The hosts, who started the day with a 481-run advantage, aggressively pursued runs, allowing the West Indies to capitalize on errors, with Kemar Roach leading the attack to claim a five-wicket haul, supported by Ojay Shields and Jayden Seales who took the remaining three wickets. A good session for New Zealand and they'll try to pick wickets in the next session. Stay tuned for the post-Lunch session.
So, a tough patch for West Indies to shake it off and they have done a decent job of going unscathed into the break. New Zealand had their tails up and bowled with a lot of fire. Matt Henry and Zakary Foulkes were right on the money with the new ball, which troubled the Windies batters. However, both batters took a couple of blows on the body but eventually managed to see through the first session.
