Right then, when two juggernauts of the game collide, more often than not, we do get some exciting matches and series as well. That's exactly what has happened here and the series is nicely poised at 1-1 with one more game remaining. The caravan will now move from Darwin, where we have seen international cricket for the first time in 17 overs to Cairns for the final T20I. That game will be played on Saturday, 16 August and will begin at 9.15 am GMT. However, you can join us a lot sooner for the build-up. Till then, take care and goodbye!
Aiden Markram, the South African skipper, says that it was nice to take it to the third game and happy to get the win heading to Cairns. Lauds the knock of Dewald Brevis knock which right up there, says that he works hard and it was a freakish display of batting. Mentions that he is pleased with the knock as Brevis has played a lot of T20s and happy with his progress. Closes by sharing that Australia come hard with the bat, so they stuck to their strengths and bowled in the right areas.
Mitchell Marsh, the captain of Australia, has a bit of a chuckle when asked about Dewald Brevis and he says that he was saying to his teammates that Brevis mistimed a few sixes but he's a real up-and-coming talent, so kudos to him. Adds that chasing 219 was always going to be difficult and applauds South Africa for the way they played and is looking forward to the decider.
Dewald Brevis wins the PLAYER OF THE MATCH AWARD for his blistering knock. He says that he is grateful and happy that the team won. Shares that it’s great to be on the winning side. Says that the plan was to come back strong after the first game and everyone played their part well. Adds that Australia have a great squad and they hit the ball hard, so they had to be on their toes throughout the game.
The Presentation ceremony...
Earlier in the game, Mitchell Marsh won the toss and put South Africa into bat given the conditions seemed good for chasing with the dew coming into play as well. However, the Proteas got off to a bit of a flier in the Powerplay before losing their way for a bit. Ben Dwarshuis and Glenn Maxwell brought about a mini collapse before Dewald Brevis took center stage and played an unbelievable knock. It wasn't perfect as Brevis did get away with a few rash shots but more often than not, the ball-striking was sensational. Tristan Stubbs played a nifty hand too as Brevis finished with an unbeaten 125 off just 56 balls, helping his side pose a total well upwards of 200. As for Australia, Josh Hazlewood and Adam Zampa seemed a bit off color but Dwarshius kept up his form from the first game.
Tim David brought up a half-century in quick time but got out right after that as Kagiso Rabada got the all-important breakthrough for his side. Soon enough, it was a double whammy for the visitors as Glenn Maxwell fell in the very next over and the Aussies seemed down and out. There was a fightback from Alex Carey but that didn't last long and the Aussie tail couldn't wag as the Proteas kept on creating chances and made sure they held onto them as well. In the end, it was a comfortable victory, setting up the final game nicely.
218 is a daunting total on any surface and with a couple of early wickets, it becomes that more challenging for the chasing side even when there's plenty of dew. South Africa made sure they picked up those early wickets and it was their skipper, Aiden Markram, who got things rolling by dismissing Travis Head and then Kwena Maphaka got rid of Cameron Green to put the visitors on top. However, Tim David then came in and it seemed like he was going to hit every ball out of the park. He did get dropped again just like in the last game but couldn't punish the Proteas as much as last time.
South Africa have come roaring back in Darwin and have leveled up the T20I series at 1-1 with one more game remaining. It was a fine performance from the Proteas and they were just that bit better in all aspects of the game than Australia. Not only have South Africa broken the record-breaking run of 9 straight victories in T20Is for Australia but this is also Australia's second biggest loss in T20Is in Australia in terms of runs. Moreover, it is South Africa's biggest win in terms of runs over the Aussies.

Kwena Maphaka To Cameron Green OUT!
OUT! CAUGHT! Kwena Maphaka gets the last laugh in his battle with Cameron Green and Australia are 2 down inside 4 overs. Short of a length and at the body, skidding through. Green leans back to pull but hits it flat and hard, a bit uppish and to the right of mid-wicket. Nqabayomzi Peter takes a stellar diving catch, low down to his right and looks to celebrate wildly but the ball pops out of his hands. Thankfully for him, he had it in control for long enough and Green has to depart.
Oh, did Nqabayomzi Peter hang on to the ball for long enough? Peter tried to throw it up in celebration but it spills out and the umpires have gone upstairs to have a look. The replays roll in and they do confirm that the ball was clearly caught and controlled. OUT comes up on the big screen.
