Another superb show of batting by Glenn Maxwell and David Miller gave Kings XI Punjab a thrilling seven-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals in a big run chase in the Indian Premier League (IPL) at Sharjah on Sunday. Chasing 192 for a win, Maxwell (89 off 45) and Miller (19-ball 51 not out) guided Kings XI to a victory with eight balls to spare.
Along with teammate Maxwell and Delhi Daredevils' Jean-Paul Duminy, Miller became the third batsman to score two fifties in the seventh edition of the IPL. (Also read: I left the job unfinished, says Maxwell)
Maxwell is now the leading run-getter at IPL 2014. He has scored 184 runs in two innings at an average of 92.00. Duminy, with 119 without being dismissed in two innings, is the next highest.
Maxwell's 89 off 45 balls is the second highest by a Punjab player against Rajasthan at the IPL, next only to the 115 by Shaun Marsh's 115 at Mohali on May 28, 2008.
Cheteshwar Pujara and Maxwell added 116 for the third wicket - Punjab's second highest for second wicket at the IPL, next only to the 148 between Azhar Mahmood and Shaun Marsh vs Mumbai Indians at Dharamsala on May 18, 2013.

# Punjab recorded their fourth win in 12 matches vs Rajasthan Royals at the IPL (Lost eight) - winning % 33.33.
# Punjab (193/4) have registered their third highest total against Rajasthan at the IPL - their highest being 221 for three at Mohali on May 28, 2008.
# Punjab's aforesaid total is their highest successful chase against Rajasthan at the IPL.
# Rajasthan (191/5) have recorded their joint-second highest total vs Punjab at the IPL - the highest being 211 for four at Chennai on May 5, 2009.
# Shane Watson (50 off 29 balls) posted his 13th innings of fifty or more at the IPL (a hundred and twelve fifties) for Rajasthan.
