1830 hrs (IST):  West Indies beat Australia by 6 wickets in last-over finish. With 12 runs to get in the final over, Sammy slammed two consecutive sixes to guide West Indies to their second consecutive win while Australia are still win-less.

 

1822 hrs (IST): 6,2, 4, 2, 4, 1  - 19 off Starc for Sammy. WI 167/4 in 19 overs, need 12 to win from 6 balls.

 

1806 hrs (IST): Another wicket! Mitchell Starc has dismissed Marlon Samuels (12) as Brad Haddin took a brilliant diving catch.  West Indies 137/4 in 17 overs, need 42 to win from 18 balls.

 

1800 hrs (IST): Bravo and Samuels collect 15 runs off Muirhead's over. WI 122/3 in 15 overs, need 57 runs to win from 30 balls.

 

1755 hrs (IST): Maxwell takes another catch! Lendl Simmons departs at a crucial juncture. WI 107/3 in 13.5 overs, need 72 to win from 37 balls.

 

1746 hrs (IST): OUT! Oh boy! Chris Gayle is gone now! He falls for 53, caught by Maxwell in the deep off Muirhead. The game is on now! West Indies 101/2 in 12.1 overs, need 78 to win from 47 balls.

 

1744 hrs (IST): 100 comes up for West Indies! It is also the 50-run partnership between Gayle and Simmons for the third wicket. West Indies 101/1 in 12 overs , need 78 to win from 48 balls.

1715 hrs (IST): OUT! West Indies have lost their first wicket here! The breezy opening stand comes to an end as Mitchell Starc dismisses Dwayne Smith, caught behind by Haddin. WI 50/1 in 5 overs.

 

1709 hrs (IST): Chris Gayle seems to be finding his rhythm here. He has 30 from 11 balls as West Indies reach 46/0 in 4 overs.

16.43 (IST): Free-spirited Glenn Maxwell (45) and the dependable Brad Hodge (35) helped Australia counter the West Indian spinners. Sunil Narine (2/19), Marlon Samuels (2/20) and Samuel Baree (2/37) rattled the Australian top-order well. The West Indies now chase 179 to record their second win of the tournament.

1627 hrs (IST): Another wicket! Australia are now seven down! An acrobatic catch by Dwayne Bravo brings an end to James Faulkner's stay at the wicket as Santokie picked up his first wicket of the game. (Australia 154/7 in 18.2 overs)

 

1620 hrs (IST): Narine strikes! Brad Hodge (35) is gone, bowled after trying to played a reverse-shot. (Australia 152/6 in 17.5 overs)

1610 hrs (IST): Brad Hodge (19) and James Faulkner (10) are in the middle with Australia on 132/5 in 16 overs. They will back themselves to take guide Australia close to 170-180.

 

1553 hrs (IST): Massive wicket! Glenn Maxwell's fiery cameo comes to an end as he departs on 45 off just 22 balls. It's Badree who strikes again, getting Maxwell caught off Dwayne Bravo at deep square leg. (Australia 100/5 in 11.2 overs)

 

1544 hrs (IST): Four down! Samuels (12) gets a wicket as George Bailey is caught by Sammy. (Australia 77/4, 9.3 overs)

 

1540 hrs (IST): Glenn Maxwell takes on Darren Sammy! He carts Sammy for a six over deep mid-wicket and followed it with a four in front of square. (Australia 73/3, 9 overs)

 

1529 hrs (IST): OUT! West Indies have rattled Australian top-order here! Shane Watson (2) is beaten by the turn off a Narine delivery and dragged his backfoot out. When Ramdin completed the stumping, Watson's foot was on the line and the third umpire rightly ruled in favour of the defending champions. (Australia 41/3, 5.4 overs)

 

1525 hrs (IST): OUT! Another wicket! David Warner is gone for 20. Badree's delivery skidded on and Warner failed to bring his bat down on time and is bowled. (Australia 41/2, 4.5 overs)

 

1518 hrs (IST): OUT! Finch falls (16 off 11). The opener looked solid but perhaps was a bit too aggressive, a bit too early. Is bowled by Marlon Samuels. (Australia 33/1, 3.4)

 

1512 hrs (IST):Warner shows he can do what Finch can. After Finch smashes two boundaries, Warner slams two of his own vs Santokie. (Australia: 28/0 after three)

 

1503 hrs (IST): Australian openers a bit cautious. 4/0 after the 1st over. The pitch seems to have a slightly dual character in terms of pace - Finch and Warner looked intent on just respecting Santokie. Second over though goes for 15!

 

1455 hrs (IST):Time for action! Krishmar Santokie will bowl the first ball. With 12 T20I wickets, the youngster has done relatively well in the absence of Ravi Rampaul. Finch and David Warner open for Australia.

 

1445 hrs (IST): Although West Indies were eager to bat first as well, Bailey won the toss for his side. "It is a good pitch and we hope to put in some runs and hope the target will be enough," he said.

 

1440 hrs (IST): At toss, Windies' skipper Sammy said that he would look to restrict Australia to under 150. Australia though will have eyes set on a higher total, especially with the likes of Finch and Glenn Maxwell in the side. Interestingly, one of the boundaries in Mirpur is just under 60 meters which means the likes of Chris Gayle and other power-hitters in both sides will come out with their bats swinging when its their turn.

 

1430 hrs (IST): Toss! Australia skipper George Bailey wins it and he opts to bat first against West Indies. James Faulkner and spinner James Muirhead have been included. Windies remain unchanged.

 

West Indies are banking on memories of their last encounter against the Aussies in an ICC World Twenty20 event. The team under Darren Sammy defeated Australia in the semis, moving forward to claim the title. Sammy feels the memories of that semifinal can once again bolster the confidence in his camp. Australia have several star performers and many experts would continue to place their bets on this team, at least on paper. The cautious though would know that for all their prowess, Australia did go down by 16 runs to Pakistan in what was a high-scoring thriller. Opener Aaron Finch however, is not too perturbed and said that his side is raring to make the most of their remaining three matches in the Super-10 stage.

 

The India equation: The match will be closely followed by the Indian camp - the team takes on Bangladesh in the second match of the day . If West Indies beat Australia today, the Men in Blue can assure themselves of a semifinal berth by just beating Bangladesh later on Friday - an easy possibility considering their recent form. Currently topping Group two with two wins from two matches, India have already faced Pakistan and West Indies - registering confident wins.
