"Long Way To Go": D Gukesh's Big Admission After World Championship Win

Indian Grandmaster D Gukesh crediting mental conditioning coach Paddy Upton for helping him tame the "emotional pressure" of competing at the biggest stage. The 18-year-old Gukesh, who defeated China's Ding Liren to become the youngest ever owner of the world title. Upon his arrival in Chennai, his hometown, Gukesh spoke in detail about his win and what he plans to do next after the historic triumph.

"My target has always been to become the best player in the world. There are lot of strong problems and I still have a lot of improvement to make. Players like Magnus, they keep me motivated to work hard and improve. Although this is a big achievement for me at such a very young age, I believe there is still a long way to go," Gukesh said at the press conference.
