Qamar, Belwar in last four

Manchester Commonwealth Games gold medalist Mohammad Ali Qamar, H K Belwal of Services and Balbir of Delhi stormed into the semifinals in their respective weight categories in the National Boxing Championship.
In the light-fly weight category, Qamar once again came up with a fine performance to beat Amandeep Singh of Punjab on points while Balbir knocked out Dup Bahadur Pun of Meghalaya to reach the semifinal.
Joining them were Jonathan of SSCB and Raj Kumar of Karnataka who defeated Znala of Mizoram and Himanshu of Uttaranchal.
National fly-weight champion Belwal eliminated Railways Sundi Raju to reach the last four while Robin Dev of Services, Pawan Singh of Sikkim and Abhishekh Shah of Delhi booked their semifinal berths beating Ashwani Singh of Chandigarh, Gurmukh Singh of Punjab and Bijender Singh.
Bijender of Haryana, Dharambir Singh of RSPB also entered the semis after defeating their opponents Sundi Raju of Andhra Pradesh and Bipin Pyng Rope of SSCB.
In feather weight, RSPB's boxer Mujtaba Kamal routed Naveen Dev of Haryana to enter the semi final. (PTI)
