Badminton world champion Carolina Marin on Monday pulled out of the Australian Open to better prepare for the Rio Olympics.
"Back in Spain and I won't play in Australia! Recuperation and training. I will not play Australia Open! Sorry," Marin tweeted.

The world-ranked No. 1 added that she had suffered "some discomfort in Indonesia and we've come to Spain to recover and get ready for the most important thing: the Olympic Games. Thanks very much for all your support!"
