Herschelle Gibbs spotted his bat being used as evidence - a forensic analyst said it was used to smash a toilet door - during the Oscar Pistorius muder trial.
A forensic expert showed a cricket bat to court during Oscar Pistorius trial on Wednesday and claimed that it was used to smash the toilet door on the night that the athlete 'mistakenly' shot his girlfriend. Police Colonel J.G Vermeulen said that the bat was used to strike down the door on the fateful night of February 14, 2013. What became a vital evidence in the Reeva Steenkamp murder case was spotted by Gibbs, who tweeted his 'observation' almost immediately. Pistorius has said he shot Steenkamp by mistake, fearing she was an intruder in the night, and then bashed the door open with a cricket bat to get to his girlfriend when he realized what had happened. The prosecution says the February 14 incident was intentional and happened after an argument between the couple.
