Brittney Reese wins 3rd women's long jump title at athletic worlds
The Olympic champion from the United States only reached the final as last qualifier but jumped 7.01 meters on her second attempt to beat Okagbare by 2 centimeters.

Brittney Reese won her third straight long jump world title Sunday, holding off Blessing Okagbare of Nigeria in a tight final at the world championships.
The Olympic champion from the United States only reached the final as last qualifier but jumped 7.01 meters on her second attempt to beat Okagbare by 2 centimeters.
Ivana Spanovic took bronze in a Serbian record jump of 6.82.
Okagbare, who had beaten Reese earlier this season, ran earlier in the day to reach the 100-meter semifinals. She is also a favorite to medal in that event on Monday.
