Australian Open 2022 Highlights, Rafael Nadal vs Daniil Medvedev: Rafael Nadal Beats Daniil Medvedev To Win Record 21st Major

Sixth seed Rafael Nadal staged a comeback to defeat Daniil Medvedev and win his record 21st Grand Slam title in the Australian Open 2022 men's singles final at the Rod Laver Arena on Sunday. The Spaniard had to rely on his vast experience to seal a win in a five-set thriller 2-6, 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 6-4, 7-5. Initially, Medvedev put in a strong start to win the first two sets. The Russian looked strong in the third set too but Nadal had other plans and clawed back into the match. Winning the third set 6-4, Nadal followed it up by clinching the fourth set too. He initially looked to cruise past in the fifth set but Medvedev stayed in the game to take it till the end with Nadal winning 7-5. The win also helps Nadal overtake Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic with his historic 21st Grand Slam title.
