In Men's Long Jump, India's Murali Sreeshankar has earned direct qualification with a leap of 8.01 meters. He was the first one in the event, and he made his first attempt count. Brilliant news for India!

Gurindervir is eighth-fastest so far, but we have another seven heats to go. Remember, only the 10 fastest runners go through to the next round.

Gurindervir Singh finishes second with a time of 10.30 seconds. Jamaica's Rohan Watson tops Heat 4 with a time of 10.13 seconds.

Wales' Jeremiah Azu has come out on top of Heat 3 with a time of 10.10 seconds. Gurindervir Singh, who is next up, needs to be at his best to qualify.

In Heat 2, it's Ghana's Abdul-Rasheed Saminu who has come out on top with a time of 10.01 seconds. It's his season best.

The results from Heat 1 are out. Nigeria's Favour Oghene Tejiri Ashe has topped with a time of 10.10 seconds. 

Gurindervir Singh is a part of Heat 4. There are a total of 11 heats in the men's 100m event. A total of seven athletes have been given a bye into the semifinals, while the other ten will come from the eleven heats today. There will be no automatic qualification. The fastest ten sprinters from the eleven heats will enter the next round.
