A respectable effort from India, an improvement by nearly 10 seconds from their qualification time, but India finish sixth in the men's 4x200m freestyle relay. A time of 7:29.84 for India. Australia take gold with a time of 7:01.47, which is a Commonwealth Games record. Silver for England, who gave a brilliant fight. Bronze for Wales.

India's final assigment of Day 4, the men's 4x200m freestyle swimming relay, is about to begin! India had the sixth-best qualification time, but can they better they bag an unprecedented medal in the final?

One more event remains on Day 4, when it comes to India's representation. It's the men's 4x200 freestyle swimming relay. India's team comprises Aryan Nehra, Srihari Nataraj, Aneesh Sunil Kumar Gowda and Dhakshan Shashikumar.

Four medals officially confirmed for India now at Commonwealth Games 2026. Here are the medal-winners so far:

GOLD: Mirabai Chanu, women's 48kg weightlifting

SILVER: Rishikanta Singh, men's 60kg weightlifting

RAJA MUTHUPANDI BAGS SILVER! A total of 286kg lifted in the men's 65kg weightlifting final (126kg snatch, 160kg clean and jerk), comfortably securing him the silver medal. 

Malaysia's Aznil Bidin wins the gold, setting a Commonwealth Games record in both snatch and clean and jerk!

Raja Muthupandi completes a 160kg lift on his second clean and jerk attempt, and that restores his silver medal spot! That was the Commonwealth Games record for a short while, but Malaysia's Aznil Bidin lifts 162kg to retake the record and the gold medal spot.

India's Aditya Pratap Yadav loses his men's 65kg Round of 16 match, as Uganda's Nuhu Batte makes a terrific comeback. After leading 5-0 in the judges' ruling after the first round, Batte led 3-2 after the second round. Ultimately, Batte wins by that margin!

The men's 65kg Round of 16 match between India's Aditya Pratap Yadav and Uganda's Nuhu Batte is underway. This is India's final boxing assignment of the day. With Preeti and Jadumani winning earlier, can Aditya add another boxing win for India to close out?

And the judges rule in favour of Aditya in the first round!

The clean and jerk section of the men's 65kg weightlifting final is underway. Raja Muthupandi will be one of the last to go, as his attempted lift is the second-highest among all competitors.

Along with the weightlifting final, India have representation in two more events on Day 4. First, India's Aditya Pratap Yadav will take on Uganda's Nuhu Batte in a men's 65kg Round of 16 bout. That is scheduled to begin at 11:45 PM IST.

Later, India will compete in the men's 4x200m freestyle relay final in swimming. That is scheduled to begin at 01:56 AM IST.

India's Raja Muthupandi is in the silver medal position after the Snatch attempts in the men's 65kg weightlifting final. He lifted 126kg on his second attempt, but failed to improve to 129kg. Malaysia's Aznil Bin Bidin Muhamad is in the gold medal spot, lifting a CWG record 133kg!

Onto the clean and jerk rounds!

Jadumani Singh does it!!! He beats his Pakistani opponent, Sumama Rehman, by a unanimous verdict in the men's 55kg boxing event at the Commonwealth Games 2026. The Indian pugilist advances to the quarter-finals. He is now just one win away from securing a medal for his nation.

Back to the weightlifting, Raja Muthupandi fails to lift 126kg on his first snatch attempt in the men's 65kg final. He has two more attempts remaining in snatch.

And he has done it on his second attempt! Raja successfully lifts 126kg on his second go.

Incredible work from Jadumani Singh! He takes the second round as well. Meanwhile, we are into the final round and, as I type, Sumama Rehman lands a perfect cross on Jadumani's face.

Both Jadumani Singh and Sumama Rehman are looking to score as many points as possible, landing some really good punches. As I type this, Rehman chases Jadumani, starting with a combination of a jab and a cross. Oh, my God! This is some amazing footwork from Jadumani once again as he makes a mockery of his opponent. Right after escaping the attack, the Indian asks the crowd to cheer for him.

India's Jadumani Singh receives a split verdict in the first round. He boxed brilliantly against his taller Pakistani opponent. The Indian showcased amazing footwork to stay a step ahead of the Pakistani pugilist.

Pakistan's Sumama Rehman, who is a taller opponent, is using his range beautifully against India's Jadumani Singh. Jadumani started the game with good slips but he ends up getting some blows.

An India vs Pakistan clash is underway in men's 55kg boxing. Jadumani Singh of India is taking on Sumama Rehman of Pakistan. The first round is on!

India have suffered a crushing defeat to South Africa in women's 3v3 wheelchair basketball, losing by a margin of 4-21. India have one more pool match remaining, where they will face Nigeria.

While the weightlifting action continues, we are moments away from the start of an India vs Pakistan contest in boxing. India's Jadumani Singh Mandengbam will take on Pakistan's Sumama Rehman in men's 55kg Round of 16!

A bad day in the office for lawn bowls Women's Pairs duo Rupa Rani Tirkey and Pinki Singh. They suffer a second straight defeat, losing in the tie-break to England. India won the first set 4-3, lost the second set 3-10, and then were beaten in the tie-break.

That leaves them India in their group, and confirms the exit from women's pairs in CWG 2026! A bright start but a disappointing end.

Raja Muthupandi in action! The men's 65kg weightlifting final is underway. Can India seal their third weightlifting medal of Day 4?

Time for another medal hunt! India's Raja Muthupandi is set to take part in the men's 65kg weightlifting final, which is about to begin in a few moments. Raja will start off with the second-highest attempts. He will look to lift 125kg in snatch and 160kg in clean and jerk.

The referee stops the contest, and India's Preeti enters the quarter-finals of the Women's 54kg event at the Commonwealth Games 2026. After losing the first round, Deborah Mtenje goes hard in the second, and Preeti uses the opportunity to land some heavy blows. Mtenje gets another standing eight count, and the referee stops the contest (RSC).

India's Preeti takes the first round against Deborah Mtenje of Malawi by a unanimous verdict in the Women's 54kg Round of 16 clash. Both boxers were off to a cautious start, but Preeti managed to land a beautiful combination of a jab and a cross.

Despite late pressure from England, India secure the opening set 4-3. It was a close contest as England made some terrific comeback in the last two ends of the set. However, India managed to take it by a narrow margin.

The Women's Pairs lawn bowls Round 5 match between India and England is underway! Rupa Rani Tirkey and Pinki Singh face off against Amy Pharaoh and Sian Honnor.

With Mirabai Chanu's gold, India's medal tally for CWG 2026 goes up to three. Jhandu Kumar opened the account with bronze in men's para powerlifting. Rishikanta Singh claimed silver in men's 60 kg weightlifting, and now Mirabai has won gold in women's 49 kg weightlifting. 

Remember, Lovlina Borgohain is also guaranteed a medal in boxing after receiving a bye to the semis.

We are just over half an hour away from the start of the Women's Pairs lawn bowls Round 5 match between India and England. That's India's next assignment today. Rupa Rani Tirkey and Pinki Singh will be hoping to bounce back from their loss in the previous game.

Mirabai Chanu spoke to NDTV after her historic gold at CWG 2026.

"I feel very good. This is my third gold medal at the Commonwealth Games. I am extremely happy. I can't express how happy I am to win my third gold medal. I am proud that I did it for India and the Indian Weightlifting Federation. It is a big thing for me that I was able to win the gold medal for India," Chanu told NDTV in an exclusive interaction.

India's Putul Sonowal lost to Malta's Shaun James Parnis after squandering a 7-4 lead in the second set. Having lost the opening set, Sonowal led with one end remaining, but Parnis earned two decisive points to tie the set and seal the match. Sonowal now needs a miracle to advance beyond the group stage.

Mirabai Chanu completes a unique hat-trick! She becomes only the third Indian athlete to win three consecutive individual gold medals at the Commonwealth Games, joining an elite group featuring Sushil Kumar (2010, 2014, and 2018) and Vinesh Phogat (2014, 2018, and 2022).

Mirabai Chanu has won India's first gold medal at Glasgow 2026! She sealed victory by breaking the Commonwealth Games record for total lift (snatch clean and jerk) with a combined 190 kg. This marks her third consecutive gold medal at the Games.

Just as in the snatch, Mirabai Chanu misses her opening clean and jerk attempt! She appeared to have the lift secure, but lost control right at the finish.

Putul Sonowal leads 7-6 in the second set with just one end remaining. After dropping the first two ends, he produced a superb recovery to take the lead.

Putul Sonowal loses the first set 10-4 against Malta's Shaun James Parnis. He was scoreless through End 5 before scoring two points each in the final two ends.

Mirabai Chanu gets the job done at the second time of asking, having failed to lift 82 kg on her first snatch attempt. She will now aim to lift a Games-record 85 kg. She now leads the pack!

In lawn bowls, India's Putul Sonwal is taking on Malta's Shaun James Parnis in the men's singles sectional play event. Sonwal trails 3-0 after End 1.

India's Tapan Mohanty finished 15th in the artistic gymnastics men's all-around final. Home favorite Reuben Ward took gold with a score of 79.650 points, while silver and bronze went to Canada's Felix Dolci and Australia's Jesse Moore.

Still no sign of Mirabai Chanu on the platform! In the meantime, we have already seen two early eliminations. Papua New Guinea's Thelma Toua Mea and Sri Lanka's Upamali Rajapaksha bow out after failing all three of their snatch attempts, with both sets of coaches consoling their lifters.

Tapan Mohanty is all but out of medal contention with one rotation to go. He has dropped to 14th place with an overall total of 60.600 points.

It is going to be a long wait for Mirabai Chanu! Her entry weight of 82 kg in the snatch means the other nine lifters in the field will complete all three of their attempts before she even steps onto the platform for her first lift.

The women's 48 kg weightlifting final is underway! Mirabai Chanu takes to the platform, with the two-time Commonwealth Games gold medalist set to open her snatch campaign at 82 kg!

India's Mirabai Chanu will be in action shortly in the women's 48 kg weightlifting final. She is eyeing a third consecutive gold medal at the Commonwealth Games.

In men's all-around final, Tapan Mohanty drops to the 12th position after scoring just 11.600 in horizontal bars. His overall score tally is 48.750. Scotland's Reuben Ward leads the chart with 53.200 after four rounds.

India's Tapan Mohanty has dropped back down to 11th place. Scotland's Reuben Ward continues to lead with 39.150 points, followed by Australia's Ritam Malik in second with 39.050 and Wales's Elliot Vernon in third with 38.950.

India have the chance to win four more medals today.

According to the official Commonwealth Games website, Mirabai Chanu will attempt 82 kg in the snatch and 105 kg in the clean and jerk, making her the favorite to win gold on paper.

Tapan Mohanty scores 12.450 on his third routine, the parallel bars, taking his overall tally to 37.150 points and moving temporarily into fifth place.

Tapan finishes his second routine on the vault. He scores 12.700 and moves up to 9th place with a total of 24.700 points. Scotland's Reuben Ward currently occupies the gold medal spot with a score of 26.900, followed by Cyprus's Marios Georgiou (25.950) and Wales's Elliot Vernon (25.850).

India's Srihari Nataraj, Aryan Nehra, Aneesh Gowda, and Dhakshan Shashikumar have qualified for the men's 4x200m freestyle relay final. The quartet finished third in Heat 2 with a time of 7:39.48.

The final will take place at 1:56am IST!

India's Tapan Mohanty sits 11th in the 18-man field after the first rotation on the rings in the men's all-around final in artistic gymnastics. He has accumulated 12.000 points so far.

A heartwarming way to round off the men's 60 kg weightlifting final, as Rishikanta Singh congratulated Malaysia's Mohamad Aniq bin Kasdan on setting a new Games record and bagging the gold medal. The two shared a laugh together at the end.

It looks as though India's Rishikanta will have to settle for silver. He was unable to lift 151 kg on his third and final attempt, meaning Malaysia's Mohamad Aniq bin Kasdan will take the gold medal, while Kenya's Joshua Amunga Mboya secures the bronze.

Kenya's Joshua Amunga Mboya now has a great chance to snatch a bronze medal after successfully lifting 145 kg on his final clean and jerk attempt. Huge roar from Joshua!

Sri Lanka's Wriduwalage's first attempt has been deemed unsuccessful following a review. Meanwhile, Malaysia's Aniq Kasdan rises to the top as he successfully lifts 145 kg on his first clean and jerk attempt.

Rishikanta Singh successfully lifted 143 kg on his first clean and jerk attempt. He will attempt 148 kg on his second attempt.

Davis Niyoyita of Uganda was eliminated after failing to make a successful attempt in the clean and jerk. He attempted 135 kg on all three of his attempts, but was unable to complete a lift.

Tapan Mohanty will be in action soon in artistic gymnastics as he competes for a medal in the men's all-around final at 4:30 PM.

Canada's Antonin Lanoue was unable to lift 132 kg on his first attempt. He attempted the same weight again-and made it count on his second attempt.

England's Kieran Stiles successfully lifted 118 kg, 123 kg, and 126 kg in the clean and jerk. He will now have to wait for other athletes to complete their attempts.

Singapore's Hafiz Bin Zaidi successfully lifted 111 kg and 117 kg on his first two clean and jerk attempts. However, he looks out of medal contention with his opponents setting a higher benchmark.

Rishikanta Singh will attempt 145 kg on his first clean and jerk attempt. Malaysia's Aniq Kasdan has listed 150 kg for his first attempt.

Wow! Rishikanta doesn't disappoint as he successfully lifts 121kg in his third and final snatch attempt. It is a Commonwealth Games record. Kasdan matches the Indian's lift and successfully completes 121kg snatch.

Rishikanta has successfully lifted 116kg and 119kg in his first two snatch attempts. Kasdan, on the other hand, has lifted 116 and is set to lift 119kg nex. For Rishikanta, the final attempt would be 120kg.

Rishikanta has revised his snatch weight to 116kg, the same as his opponent Kasdan. They are the only two left to complete their snatch attempts. All others are done.

Rishikanta has a personal best of 120kg, which he achieved in the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships last year. His biggest competitor for the gold medal is Aniq Kasdan, who holds the Commonwealth record of 285kg (125kg snatch 160kg clean & jerk). It is expected to be an enthralling battle between the two.

Singapore's Hafiz Bin Zaidi has lifted the most weight so far of all athletes, with 101kg in snatch. Rishikanta has listed his weight at 118kg, which is the highest in snatch. In clean & jerk, his listed weight of 145kg is the second highest, behind Malaysia's Mohammad Aniq Bin Kasdan, at 150kg.

The defeat to Namibia isn't as bitter as it first looked. England suffered a defeat against South Africa. With one match left in the section, India, England, and Namibia are all tied on points. India remain in the hunt for a semi-final berth with a simple mandate, which is a win against England this evening. It's still in India's hands.

Heartbreaking! The tie-break doesn't go as planned for India. It's their first loss of this competition. Namibia make yet another comeback in this competition to take the tie-break 3-0.

The lawn bowls second set ends for India with a 10-1 lead. That is massive! But, the result of the match is to be settled through a tie-break.

The men's 60kg weightlifting final has begun. India's Rishikanta Singh Chanambam has listed his starting weights at 118kg and 145kg, respectively. It is going to be some time before Rishikanta's turn comes.

India claim the fourth end by a point to stretch their lead to 8-1, forcing a tie-break. While the fifth end must still be played for points table and shot differential purposes, Namibia can no longer win this set, as a maximum of six points are available in an end. It's all about the tie-breaker now.

Namibia make a comeback, of some sort, but only take one point to reduce India's lead to 7-1. It was Viljoen's second bowl of the end that displaced the closest Indian bowl to the jack. Namibia aren't out yet but India have some breathing space.

We aren't far away from the men's 60kg weightlifting final. Here's how the line-up looks:

Another brilliant display from the Indian pair as they surge into a 7-0 lead after two ends in the second set. However, the set is far from over—India must ensure they don't take their foot off the pedal the way they did in the first set.

Promising start from India in the second set to take a 4-0 lead from End 1. India, however, have to avoid the same mistakes that they made in the first set. Namibia's fight back can't be ruled out yet. 

Absolute drama in the first set as Namibia clinch 7-5 win. Namibia take three points from the final end of the first set, after an amazing set of bowls from both Steenkamp and Viljoen. Pinki and Rupa Rani would be disappointed that they let their 5-0 lead slip.

Another slip-up from India, as Rupa Rani and Pinki struggle to match Steenkamp's heroics. Ahead of the start of the final end, just one point separates India and Namibia. India have a 5-4 and they will have the last bowl of this fifth end. It's quite thrilling in the middle.

Namibia Fight Back. Steenkamp's first bowl almost ends up touching the jack, that's how close it was. Viljoen does well too as Namibia take two points. Three sets end, with India 5-2 ahead in the first set. 

Exceptional from the Indian team. Pinki is proving why India has high hopes for her, as she takes the team 5-0 ahead against Namibia. A positive start from Rupa Rani as well. Three ends to go in this first set, and India seems to have all but shown the gulf between them and Namibia.

Just the start India wanted.Pinki has continued her wonderful form as India take 2-0 lead after the opening end. Pinki gets 2 bowls closest to the jack in her 3 throws. India need to build on this start!

The first event of the day has begun, with India taking on Namibia in Women's Pair Sectional - Section B, Round 4, Match 2. 

India has high hopes from Rupa Rani Tirkey and Pinki in the event.
