Acknowledging tough fight from talented Soumyajit Ghosh and teenage sensation Sourav Saha, veteran table tennis star Achanta Sarath Kamal on Tuesday exuded confidence while talking about his chances of winning the National Table Tennis Championship.
"I know there is tough fight against top ranked players Ghosh and Saha, both of whom are in top form," Kamal told PTI here.
Sarath is working hard for the forthcoming Commonwealth Games scheduled in Glasgow. He said he would be leaving for Germany on January 14 for preparation for the forthcoming Asian Games at Incheon in South Korea and Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
He praised new national coach Peter Angel and said under his guidance the country would definitely improve and get good results in international tournaments.
Sharath lamented that table tennis does not enjoy popularity in India like cricket, football and badminton. "Sponsors are not coming forward to push the game," he said.
