Paris Olympics 2024, Day 1 Highlights: It has been a mixed day for Indian athletes on Day 1 of the medal events. The highlight for India has been the entry of Manu Bhaker into the final of the women's air pistol event. Meanwhile, in badminton, star badminton pair Chirag Shetty/Satwiksairaj Rankireddy along with Lakshya Sen have won their first matches. In table tennis, Harmeet Desai too got off to winning start, beating Jordan's Abo Yaman Zaid 4-0 in the preliminary round. However, there was disappoint in store for shotters as they could not qualify for the 10m air rifle mixed team final. The shooters in 10m air pistol (men's) also could not qualify for the final.
