Ashish Nehra will undergo knee injury in London. The 37-year-old pacer was injured during the Indian Premier League.
Nehra injured his right knee. A BCCI statement said on Tuesday that the Sunrisers Hyderabad left-arm pacer sustained a high-grade tendon injury and was recommended to consult Dr Andrew Williams, orthopaedic specialist in London.
Post consultation, Dr Williams has advised surgery on his right knee, which will take place shortly.
Nehra has been injury prone during his stop-start career. He missed SRH's first IPL game this season but came back strongly with his consistent line and length.
He was injured again during the match against Kings XI Punjab on May 15.
Nehra has played eight IPL matches for SRH this season taking 9 wickets at a decent economy rate of 7.65. His best bowling figures were three for 15.
The Delhi pacer has played 17 Tests, 120 One-Day Internationals and 23 Twenty20 Internationals taking 44, 157 and 31 wickets, respectively.
He was not considered for selection for the tour of Zimbabwe next month.
