The controversial car crash outside his Orlando-area mansion has put focus on the personal life of otherwise a private Tiger Woods, who allegedly has an affair with a New York night club hostess.

And now the ace golfer has seeked an apology for the same in a statement on his website, confessing he has not been true to his values and the behavior his family deserves.

He was also charged with a 164-dollar fine and four points against his driver's license. (AFP Photo)

Woods was injured last Friday when he lost control of his 2009 black Cadillac Escalade outside his Florida mansion. The Florida Highway Patrol said Woods' vehicle hit a fire hydrant and a tree in his neighbour's yard after he pulled out of his driveway at 2:25 a.m. Woods, suffered facial lacerations in the accident. Woods will face no criminal charges for crashing but the world's number one golfer has been issued with a careless driving citation. Woods must also pay a 164-dollar fine and will lose four points from his license - one third of the total needed in a year to be suspended - but the Florida Highway Patrol investigation into Friday's crash has now been closed.

Woods blamed himself for the accident. "This situation is my fault, and it's obviously embarrassing to my family and me," Woods said on his Web site. "I'm human and I'm not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn't happen again." (AFP Photo)

And while Tiger has been trying to sweep truth under the carpet, another woman, Jamiee Grubbs has supposedly surfaced, claiming she had a 31-month affair with the golfer.

Grubbs, a cocktail waitress, told US Weekly that she met Woods in Las Vegas in April, 2007. According to the magazine, Grubbs had 20 sexual encounters with Tiger and the lady has more than 300 text messages and a voicemail from him to prove her claims. (AP Photo)
