Coming into the 2014 French Open tournament as the defending champion, Serena Williams would have never thought she would have to say goodbye to Paris in the second round itself. A lot of tears were shed when she realized she was going to lose her match.

Top seed Serena shockingly lost 2-6, 2-6 to Spain's Garbine Muguruza, who had impressed tennis fans with her game in the Australian Open too.

Together, Serena and Wozniacki decided to attend Game 6 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals between Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers, where Heat won at Indianapolis to secure a fourth consecutive NBA Finals spot.

Interestingly, thirteenth seed Caroline Wozniacki had her engagement to Northern Irish golfer Rory McIlroy called off a few days before she lost to Belgium's Yanina Wickmayer in the first round of the French Open.
