Rank outsiders Meghalaya scored a major in men's football by drubbing Bengal 4-1 in a Group 'A' match in the 33rd National Games.Meghalaya created a sensation by pumping in as many as three goals in the last six minutes.The soccer crazy north-eastern state team took advantage of the gaps in Bengal's defence as their forwards moved up in a bid to go all out for a win. The short but pacy Meghalaya team brought cheers for their fans who had travelled all the way from the neighbouring state to watch the game.Niwan Gatphos scored in the 84th minute, followed by K Lynsingh in the 88th minute.Romeo drove the final nail on Bengal's coffin in the 89th minute.Earlier, it was Gatphos for Meghalaya who helped his team go one up in the 38th minute before Gouranga Dutta of Bengal levelled in the 62nd minute.In the women's football match at the Sports Authority of India complex, a spirited Orissa held defending champions Manipur to a one all draw.Alochana Sengupta for Orissa helped her team to go on the lead in the 76th minute before Mani Tombi of Manipur leveled in the 88th minute.
