Liverpool's Emile Heskey scored on a late header in injury time off a corner to salvage a 2-2 draw against Arsenal in a match otherwise dominated by the first-place Gunners.Newcastle moved into second place a point ahead of Man United with a 1-0 victory at Tottenham on a goal in second-half injury time by Jermaine Jenas. Arsenal has 53 points with the draw with Newcastle on 48 and Man United on 47.With a first-half goal from Robert Pires on Wednesday and a second-half strike from Dennis Bergkamp, Arsenal surely thought it had secured three points until Heskey's goal in the final minutes.Pires' goal after only nine minutes put the Gunners on track as Arsenal controlled the pitch in the first half, giving a lesson in possession and counter-attacking soccer. It might have been different if Liverpool's Michael Owen had scored a great chance after just a few minutes. The England international missed that one and two other clear chances in the first 38 minutes, which set the tone for his night at Anfield. Owen had few other chances on a tough night for the Reds' top striker. In three other Premier League games on Wednesday in unusual mid-week action: Manchester City 4, Fulham 1; West Brom 0, Charlton 1, West Ham 2, Blackburn 1.The loss left West Brom in last place. West Ham had a different fortune as its first home win of the season moved the Hammers out of the bottom spot. West Brom has 17 points topped by Sunderland (19), West Ham (20) and Bolton (21).The victory gave Arsenal 53 points with Newcastle on 48 and Man United sitting on 47.Arsenal's speed was too much for Liverpool on Pires' goal. Dennis Bergkamp sent a through ball to Thierry Henry. Liverpool's Polish international goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek made a close-range block on the shot, but Pires drove in the rebound from 10 metres. With Arsenal dominating, John Arne Riise equalized in the 52nd to give Liverpool momentum. But that was snuffed out in the 63rd when Dennis Bergkamp scored on a ball that deflected in behind Dudek. From that point Arsenal dominated again until the final seconds when Heskey scored on a header near the far post.Man City, which reached a deal on Wednesday to bring striker Robbie Fowler to the side from Leeds, showed plenty of offense in a 4-1 bashing of Fulham. Steed Malbranque gave Fulham a 1-0 lead after two minutes. Then Man City exploded with goals from Nicolas Anelka (21st), Ali Benarbia (47th), Marc-Vivien Foe (61st) and Shaun Wright-Phillips (70th).Newcastle waited until the final minutes to pick its 1-0 victory over Tottenham as Jermaine Jenas scored in second half injury time.
