Thousands of Jordanian fans packed the Roman Amphitheatre in downtown Amman to watch Al-Nashama's historic FIFA World Cup debut. But celebrations turned to disappointment as Jordan suffered a 3-1 defeat to Austria in its opening Group J clash. Despite the setback, many supporters remained proud of the team's achievement in reaching football's biggest stage, calling the World Cup qualification itself a victory for the Kingdom. Jordan next face Algeria before a blockbuster clash against defending champions Argentina.
