Cricket's popularity is immense in India. Be it in maidans, narrow lanes, backyard or stadiums, cricket captures the imagination of the Indian public like no other sport. One of its forms, gully cricket, is immensely popular in India. It is lapped up by both children, teenagers and adults and the craze for this form of cricket is huge.
One of the latest cricketers to join in the fun of gully cricket is Virat Kohli. The Indian skipper had an impromptu session in New Delhi on Monday. Without pads, gloves and other cricketing gear, Kohli looked relaxed and enjoyed the occasion. He also took to his Facebook page to post an update.
Kohli is currently on a high after he led India to a Test series win in Sri Lanka for the first time in 22 years. This was his first win as captain and it also gave India their first win overseas since 2011.
Recently, Kohli also crossed the eight million mark on twitter, which is more than Sachin Tendulkar. He also thanked his followers on twitter for the achievement.
India's next big series will be against South Africa at home. The marathon 72-day series starts with a T20I match in Dharamsala on October 2.
