Jammu & Kashmir's previous best was pre-quarterfinal in 2000-01. Their draw vs Tripura however helped them edge past Goa - by a quotient of 0.001 - and set-up a quarterfinal clash vs Punjab.

Khajuria is only the second cricketer from the state to be picked for the India under-19 team for the tour of Sri Lanka. Before Khajuria, the last player from Jammu and Kashmir to play for India colts was lanky pacer Abid Nabi.

The junior selection committee also picked up an India U-23 squad to be led by talented Mumbai youngster Surya Kumar Yadav for the ACC Emerging Teams Cup to be played in Singapore from August 17 to 25. The squad consists of India's U-19 World Cup winning captain Unmukt Chand.

The 24-year-old Rasool, who has been in contention for national selection for a while now after a string of impressive performances, got the nod in the squad after the national selectors preferred to go in with a young team for the series, to be held from July 24 to August 3 at Harare and Bulawayo.

MS Dhoni has expressed keen interest in serving the army after he hangs up his boots. Dhoni, who was inducted as an honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the elite Parachute Regiment last year, is in Kashmir as a guest at the ongoing Kashmir Premier League in Baramullah.
