Team India Sweats it Out Ahead of Crucial Brisbane ODI Against Australia
Team India will look for an improved bowling performance from their bowlers as they taken on Australia in the second ODI game at the Gabba ground on Friday.
There is good news for Team India as Ishant Sharma has been declared fit and will be available for selection for the Brisbane ODI. Ishant was suffering from an injury to his index finger.
India expect the conditions at the Gabba to be similar to the WACA ground in Perth and fancies a bouncy pitch to greet them. Team sources indicates that Ishant will replace Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the playing XI.
It will be interesting to see if India will go in with two spinners, considering the fact that both Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin had a forgettable outing in Perth. The duo gave away 129 runs in 18 overs.
Shikhar Dhawan may have flopped in the opening ODI, but will look to make amends in the Brisbane game, where the bounce should suit his kind of play.
Virat Kohli must have rued missing out on his century, but will be happy to have kicked off 2016 in grand style. Kohli scored 91 in the Perth ODI.
Barinder Sran looks all set to retain his place courtesy his brilliant show in the first ODI. Sran picked up 3/56 in the opening game and his pace impressed many former and current players.
But all in all the Indian players will have to come up with better display. There were many misfields, while the bowlers leaked runs in the middle overs to help Australia fight back after early blows. Moreover the Indian think tank will have to find a way to get rid of Steven Smith, who has been in phenomenal form against India.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni would be expectiing a much-improved show from his bowlers. The WACA wicket was slower than expected, but the Gabba pitch is not expected to be similar which provides Dhoni enough reasons to contemplate going in with four pacers.
