Jacques Kallis who has been embroiled in a huge controversy with the South African board made a brilliant comeback.
All the controversies have not hurt his form, Kallis made an unbeaten 100 on the first day of the first Test against Pakistan in Karachi.
It was thanks mainly to Kallis' 25th Test century that the visitors closed the day at a commanding 294 for 3.
Kallis remaining unbeaten on 118 together with Hashim Amla, who made 71, put on 170 for the third wicket.
South Africa were given a solid start with skipper Graeme Smith and Herschelle Gibbs putting on 87 runs for the opening partnership.
Earlier, Pakistan's Mohammed Yousuf pulled out at the last minute. He cited fitness issues but it's believed that the legal complications of his pull out from the Indian Cricket League could have something to do with him not playing.
