94.5 OUT! CAUGHT! Finally, the Proteas hang onto a chance and Kane Williamson has to walk back here. Nagging length from Ruan de Swardt around off stump and again at a gentle pace as well. Williamson loses his shape a bit and just looks to hoick it across the line. Williamson ends up slicing the ball up over mid off where Tshepo Moreki walks back to a swirling ball and reverse cups it over his head before falling over. Ruan de Swardt gets a well-deserved maiden Test wicket on debut as Kane departs after a ton.  271/3

139.2 OUT! BOWLED'EM! This one sneaks through and Rachin Ravindra is stood there in disbelief, end of an amazing knock. Neil Brand bowls this one a bit flatter and on a length on off stump, turning it in. Rachin goes on the back foot and looks to pull a ball that isn't quite short and it even keeps a shade low. Rachin is through the shot early and the ball goes on to crash into the stumps after hitting the pads. Rachin falls for a mighty score of 240 and gets a big round of applause from everyone. New Zealand are now seven down.  474/7

Bowls it fuller in length on off, Daryl Mitchell comes forward to go downtown but overhits it getting the bottom half of the blade straight to the bowler. Neil Brand takes a superb reflex catch. The skipper breaks the partnership and New Zealand are 4 down now as Daryl Mitchell departs on 34.  374/4

Not too short on a length on the leg stump line, Tom Blundell looks to whip it towards deep mid-wicket but gets the inner half of the bat straight to Zubayr Hamza at short mid-wicket who makes no mistake with the grab. Glenn Phillips stays leg side of the ball and looks to smash it over long off but gets it high on the bat. The ball travels flat and towards the long off fence where Ruan de Swardt settles himself and reverse cups it around his face. Phillips departs after a fiery knock and New Zealand lose their sixth wicket. Is a declaration on the cards anytime soon?  473/6

141.5 OUT! TIMBER! A ripper of a delivery from Neil Brand and the Proteas skipper is having a stellar outing with the ball in hand. Tosses this one up on a nagging length and outside off, the ball lands on a foothole and turns back in very sharply. Mitchell Santner looks to lean on and block but is beaten on the inside edge and the ball hits the top of off stump.  479/8

143.4 OUT! CAUGHT! Would you believe it? Neil Brand has picked up a five-wicket haul on debut and as South Africa's skipper as well, staggering. This is floated up around off stump, inviting the big shot and Matt Henry takes the bait. Hnery goes hard at it but ends up slicing it high toward the long off fence. Ruan de Swardt settles under it well and takes a lovely catch inches from the ropes. End of a quickfire cameo from Henry.  511/9

This is tossed up very full and on the off stump line, Tim Southee shows all the stumps and hangs back, looking to swing across the line but misses. 9.4 OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! A slight adjustment from Kyle Jamieson and he gets the first breakthrough for New Zealand. Jamieson goes wider on the crease and angles it in on a good length around off, gets it to straighten just a touch as well. Neil Brand looks to leave but the ball bounces extra and catches the toe end before going straight into the gloves of Tom Blundell behind the stumps. Brand will be a bit disappointed with that.  26/1

10 OUT! LBW! Dead straight and Raynard van Tonder walks back for a second-ball duck on debut. This is excellent bowling from Kyle Jamieson as he bowls this one just a bit fuller and on the stumps, the ball pitches and jags back in sharply. Van Tonder is just too committed on the front foot and gets beaten on the inside edge as the ball thuds into the pads. A huge appeal and the finger goes up and van Tonder doesn't even bother having a chat with his partner. A double-wicket maiden for Jamieson.  26/2

23.4 OUT! BOWLED'EM! Zubayr Hamza is in an absolute disarray. Short in length but keeps a tad bit low on off, Zubayr Hamza sits on his back leg to help it towards fine leg but it thuds his thigh pad instead and eventually breaks into the stumps. South Africa are four down now with just 15 minutes left in the day.  74/4

33.4 OUT! TAKEN! That's an awful way to depart. Matt Henry delivers and the Kiwis get the first scalp of the day. Bowls it on a hard length angling into the body of Bedingham, he looks to pull but plays it very close to the body. It takes the splice of the bat and lobs up in the air. Three players converge at the bowler's end but eventually, Mitchell Santner takes it on his chest level. Horrible stroke this and David Bedingham is dejected. 65 OUT! IN THE AIR AND GONE! Rachin Ravindra strikes now! The resistance finally breaks but this is a really poor shot from Keegan Petersen. This is tossed up, full and around middle, Keegan Petersen clears his front leg away and tries to slog it away, but gets it from the toe-end of the bat as the ball goes high in the air behind mid off, Kane Williamson keeps his eyes on it, settles under it and takes a fine reverse-cup catch tumbling backward. Petersen goes back after a gritty knock but will be disappointed as he just misses out on his fifty.  152/8

34 OUT! LBW! One brings two. Huge adamant appeal and up goes the finger. Ruan de Swardt reviews it right away. Bowls it from around the wicket angling into the channel just on off, Ruan de Swardt surprisingly offers no shot at it and hangs his bat to leave but the ball brushes his pad and then deflects it to the keeper. No need for UltraEdge there. The Ball Tracker confirms that the ball is hitting the off stump on Umpire's call. Just a tickle on the off stump and Ruan de Swardt will have to depart here. Matt Henry has been absolutely on the money today.  83/6

This one is floated, full and on middle, turns away slightly, Tshepo Moreki tries to break the shackles and goes for the big slog across the line, but gets beaten by the turn away as the ball crashes on top of off-pole. That is the 50th Test wicket for Mitchell Santner!  161/9

72.5 OUT! BOWLED'EM! That's it! South Africa are all out at a paltry 162. Nicely floated delivery on the stumps on a fuller length, Dane Paterson plays all over it on the wrong line and the ball sneaks past his outside edge before breaking into the stumps. A convincing bowling performance by the Blackcaps as they still have a lead of 349 runs with them. Rachin Ravindra finishes with a couple of scalps as well. Overall, a fantastic outing for him and the Kiwis. A sorry-looking score for South Africa.  162/10

This is on a hard length angling into the batter from off, Tom Latham plays outside the line of it for a defence and wears on his front pad. UltraEdge shows no bat is involved as there's a day and night gap between the bat and the ball. Ball Tracker shows three reds as the ball hits the middle and leg stumps. It goes flat and straight towards Edward Moore who runs and dives forward to get rid of Conway. Excellent catch in the deep. Devon Conway's hard stay in the middle comes to an end. 42 OUT! STUMPED! Kane Williamson departs on a well-made 109! Sees him charging ahead does Neil Brand and fires in a length on the stump line, it keeps straight after pitching, Kane Williamson anticipates for the ball to turn a bit but misses to heave it over the deep mid-wicket region but plays it completely down the wrong line, and the ball sneaks through the gap between the bat and the pad. The keeper collects it and comfortably breaks the stumps. Kane Williamson is stranded way outside the crease. Neil Brand gets his man but this has been an exceptional innings from the former Kiwi skipper. Back-to-back centuries from him and he has troubled and tired the Proteas bowlers to say the least.  173/4

37 OUT! TAKEN! Trying to be too aggressive and dollies an easy catch to the Proteas skipper. Wide outside off on a fuller length, Rachin Ravindra does get on top of it and looks to drive over the head of the cover fielder but ends up hitting flatter and straight into the hands of Neil Brand stationed at short cover who takes a sharp catch. 3.1 OUT! TAKEN! Matt Henry joins the party now and South Africa are dented early here. A soft dismissal. From around the wicket on a fuller length outside off, Edward Moore gets ahead to drive it through the cover-point gap but slices it losing control on the shot, and dollies an easy grab to Devon Conway stationed at cover. Both the Proteas openers are back to the hut inside the first five overs.  5/2

A good inswing from around the wicket and on a length just around off, Neil Brand is a bit late on the defence and gets double minded to whether to leave it or play, but goes to defend it eventually, and the ball sharply sneaks through his inside edge, hitting the top of off.  3/1

30.2 OUT! EDGED AND GONE! Kyle Jamieson strikes straight after Lunch! The Kiwis finally break the partnership. This one is pitched up, just outside off, Raynard van Tonder goes for the expansive drive but without much footwork, the ball takes the outside edge and flies off to widish first slip where Tom Latham takes a sharp catch. Raynard van Tonder worked hard for his 31, but has to walk back now!  68/3

33 OUT! TAKEN! Oh..no! Zubayr Hamza, what have you done? Kyle Jamieson gets another in this session and the short-ball plans has worked for the Kiwis. He bangs this one into the pitch again and on off, Zubayr Hamza tries to go for the pull shot, but his bat turns in his hands and he loses control of the shot, the ball loops up off the outer half of the bat towards mid on where Tim Southee takes a dolly. South Africa loses both their set batters now!  73/4

56.3 OUT! TAKEN IN THE DEEP! Kyle Jamieson gets his man this time! The short-ball plan has finally worked for the Kiwis. This is short again as expected, on the middle, David Bedingham tries to take it on again, but this time fails to get it from the middle of the bat and mistimes it in the air towards deep mid-wicket, Mitchell Santner settles under it and pouches it safely. David Bedingham goes after an entertaining knock but misses out on a Test hundred here.  178/5

59 OUT! TAKEN! Kyle Jamieson has four now! Keegan Petersen loses his patience and that costs him his wicket here. Kyle Jamieson gets the length right this time, short and just under the armpit, on leg, Keegan Petersen decides to take it on this time and tries to pull it away, but unfortunately hits it in the air and towards fine le where Rachin Ravindra moves to his right and takes a fine diving catch. Once again, South Africa losee both set batters quickly after a break. New Zealand four wickets away from the win now!  181/6

Glenn Phillips drags his length back again, on middle, Clyde Fortuin rocks back and pulls it, Tom Latham at short leg gets his head down, but the ball goes off his right pad and lobs up in the air, Tom Blundell spots it, moves across and takes an easy catch. Fortuin stands there in disbelief but has to walk back now. New Zealand three wickets away from the win now!  199/7
