Roston Chase and Rovman Powell proudly receive the trophy together before joining their teammates in front of the 'Champions' board. It's all smiles in the West Indies camp as they celebrate and pose for pictures with the trophy. With this, South Africa's tour of the West Indies has come to an end. After securing a 1-0 victory in the Test series, the visitors faced defeats in all three T20Is. South Africa's next stop is the UAE, where they will first play a three-match ODI series against Afghanistan in late September. Following that, they will engage in a full white-ball series against Ireland, also in the UAE, featuring three ODIs and two T20Is. Meanwhile, West Indies players will shift their focus to the Caribbean Premier League, starting later in the week, before returning to international action. Their next international assignment will be at home in late October, where they will host England for three ODIs and five T20Is. There's plenty of cricket on the horizon to keep you entertained. For now, it's goodbye. Cheers!
The stand-in skipper of West Indies, Roston Chase says that they wanted to complete the clean sweep and to be able to do that is a good feeling. Feels that the guys came out well even after the rain break and applied the pressure early. Further says that in a rain-affected game, he wanted the guys to play their natural game. Tells that their focus was to go hard in the Powerplay to make the chase easier.
Shai Hope is the PLAYER OF THE SERIES for his superb batting effort, accumulating 134 runs in 3 matches. He says he prepares well and has got good support and backing which makes it easier. Talks about batting with Alick Athanaze and hopes to continue the partnership and put in some dominating performances for West Indies. Talks about how important it is to play their best cricket and they will work hard and hope to win the next World Cup.
The captain of South Africa, Aiden Markram says that it was a tough loss. Reckons that the conditions changed quite a bit throughout the game and feels that they had the tougher of the conditions. Tells that they know the value of an experience such as this and there are several areas to improve. Feels that it will take time but there were a lot of learnings for the new guys like Kwena Maphaka and Jason Smith.
Romario Shepherd is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his brilliance with the ball. He had figures 2 for 14 from his two overs. He says it's all about sticking to the process and it came good after a tough first game. Adds that with the wet ball, it was difficult and he stuck to change of pace in this game. Appreciates Tristan Stubbs for the way he played and says there's always something to learn. Concludes that it is pleasing to clean sweep the series, especially after losing out in the World Cup against South Africa.
Time for the presentation ceremony...
Earlier, the game began after an hour's delay, with South Africa being put into bat. The Proteas had a cautious start, and just as the openers began to find their rhythm, rain interrupted play 4.3 overs into the innings. The match was subsequently reduced to a 13-over-per-side contest. Ryan Rickelton and Aiden Markram both got starts but couldn't convert them into significant scores. However, Tristan Stubbs, coming in at number 4, injected some much-needed momentum. His explosive 15-ball 40 provided the late surge South Africa desperately needed, pushing their total to 108, which was then DLS-adjusted to a target of 116. For West Indies, Romario Shepherd was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2 for 14 from his 2 overs.
Ottneil Baartman managed to dismiss Pooran, but by then, the damage was done, and it was West Indies' game to lose. Shimron Hetmyer initially struggled to find his rhythm, but once he got going, there was no stopping him. After a crucial fifty-plus stand with Pooran, Shai Hope then teamed up with Hetmyer to guide West Indies home with 22 balls to spare, sealing the victory in an emphatic fashion. As for South Africa, having struggled in the initial 4.3 overs with the bat, things only got tougher as the game was reduced. With the ball, the wet conditions made it challenging for their bowlers to grip, resulting in inconsistent performance and a struggle to maintain control.
Mission clean sweep accomplished for West Indies! The hosts have completed the chase in a canter to dish out yet another whitewash to South Africa in the T20I format. Earlier this year, before the World Cup, Rovman Powell and his men handed the Proteas a 3-0 thrashing, and now, they've doubled the dose post-World Cup, extending their dominance in style. Coming to the chase - In pursuit of 116 runs, West Indies were dealt an early blow in the form of Alick Athanaze. Nicholas Pooran got off the blocks quickly and together with Shai Hope, they broke the back of the chase early. The Proteas bowlers bowled both sides of the wicket and found themselves being taken to the cleaners.

FOUR! The change of ball doesn't quite change the fortunes for the Proteas! Baartman bowls this wider on off and on a length, Shimron Hetmyer hangs back and crisps his cut past point for another boundary.
Halt! The ball seems to have gotten too soggy for the South African bowlers to grip. As a result, the umpires have decided to change the ball.

FOUR! Class written all over it! Too full, on middle and leg, Shimron Hetmyer shimmies down the track and makes a bit of room for himself before placing the drive precisely in the gap between cover and mid off for a boundary.
