That wraps up the formalities of this game. A one-sided affair in the end. Join us in two days time for the big one as Australia take on South Africa at the same venue. The action starts at 2230 IST on 7th June. Till then, it's good bye from us.
NATHAN LYON (MAN OF THE MATCH) says that he is very happy with his performance. Feels that the bowling unit did well overall too. Appreciates his spin partner Zampa's skills. Says that he believes in sticking to his off break than trying too many things. Feels that the track is a good one for him and hopes that his team can continue the performance against SA.
STEVEN SMITH feels that his side could have been more clinical with the bat but is happy to win with the bonus point. Hopes that his side can build on this momentum in the coming games too. Lauds his spinners for the stellar performance today. Praises Warner for the matured knock. Says that playing SA will be a challenge and feels that whichever team plays spin better will win. Doesn't feel that lack of practice games is a factor due to the packed international schedule.
JASON HOLDER admits that they didn't bat well at all and says that they were well short with the score. Bemoans the lack of partnerships that hurt the WI and accepts the number of soft dismissals. Agrees that the batting has to improve drastically. Says that he is happy with the bowling performances in both the matches so far.
With a very low total on the board, WI started with spin from the word go through their ace bowler Narine who took a couple of wickets. Benn and Holder took a scalp apiece too but the Windies never had enough runs on the board. The wickets of Khawaja, Smith and Maxwell in a cluster might have given the hosts some hope but there wasn't enough scoreboard pressure on Australia at any point. Early on in the day, a superb bowling performance from Australia, particularly the spinners, saw them demolish WI for a paltry total. Overall, a perfect start to the new season for the World Champions.
A crushing win for Australia. Chasing a low target of 117, the Aussies were anchored by David Warner who struck an unbeaten fifty to steer the chase home. Khawaja got a start but couldn't carry on and his wicket started a mini-collapse which saw 3 wickets falling for just 7 runs. However, Marsh held his nerve amidst some close calls to partner Warner as the Australians coasted home comfortably. The track was slow and turned appreciably to trouble the batsmen. It only goes to show what might have been had the Windies had a total of at least 175 on the board.

NOT OUT! Floats it up on a length outside off, Warner probably thought of a big hit over mid-wicket but adjusts to nudge it to backward point for a quick single. Good throw at the striker's end as Ramdin whips off the bails. The run out appeal is referred upstairs but Marsh had slid his bat in easily.
They are going upstairs to refer a run out against Marsh.
