Muhammad Waseem wins the PLAYER OF THE MATCH AWARD. Waseem expressed his delight and speechlessness over the team's win against Bangladesh. He credited the team's success to sticking to their game plan and knowing the conditions well, which gave them the confidence to chase down the target. Bangladesh will be kicking themselves right now. In the crucial moments, they somehow, with so much experience, failed to show character and allowed United Arab Emirates to get in the game. Dropped catches, executing plans or bowling in the right areas. They did everything wrong possible. They bowled well throughout the innings but as said earlier, it was in the last 2-3 overs where they let themselves down. Earlier in the game, UAE asked Bangladesh to bat first and the decision backfired majorly as Bangladesh went onto score in excess of 200. Hasan-Das' opening par made sure the visitors get a good start and it was followed by contributions from Shanto, Tawhid Hridoy and Ali in the middle over. Bangladesh did slowed down in the middle phase but they still had enough runs on the board.
Once Muhammad Waseem fell, it was Bangladesh's game to win and things were going as per the script but the opening stand of more than 100 between Muhammad Zohaib and Muhammad Waseem did a lot of damage to the total. Zohaib fell but Waseem continued his merry way after being dropped on 64 by Tawhid Hridoy. United Arab Emirates still needed plenty after his wicket and the middle order did stepped up, unlike the first game as Asif Khan, Alishan Sharafu and Saghir Khan with their handy contributions kept United Arab Emirates in the game. However, it came down to the final over and UAE held their nerves to pull off the heist.
Just before the start of the second T20I, the news spread out that a third game has been added after the words to both cricketing boards. Well, if you are still thinking why it was added, then you have missed the historic scenes today. We will get you through though - two brainfade moments from Bangladesh. 18.6, Shoriful Islam with a poor throw which meant a boundary through overthrow in a crunch situation and a waist height no ball from Tanzim Hasan Sakib in the final over. We feel these two moments cost Bangladesh the game.
