That is it from this edition of the CSA T20 Challenge! Pieter Malan collects the trophy and celebrates with his team. It has been an exciting season for them! It has been a pleasure bringing you all the action throughout this season. However, cricketing action does not stop here! We have India taking on Sri Lanka in the third T20I and Multan Sultans taking on Lahore Qalandars in the final of PSL 2022. So, do switch tabs and join us there! Till then, goodbye and cheers!
Pieter Malan the skipper of Rocks is also the BATTER OF THE MATCH. He says that they had great support and even the players stepped up on the occasion. Adds that the runs don't mean anything if they don't win but he is happy now. Tells that he is new in the captaincy role and there is still a lot of work to do.
Theunis de Bruyn, the skipper of Titans, says Pieter Malan led his team really well and his innings took the game away. Adds the run out of Donavon Ferreira took the game oppositions way and he congratulates them. Tells that they played the previous games well and it is a lesson to be learned. They didn't come here to be the runner-ups but it happens.
Imran Manack is the BOWLER OF THE MATCH. He says there were nerves from before the game but the players fought really well. He hopes to win more in the near future.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
After an exceptional tournament, Titans failed to come out on top in the last game of the league. They did a phenomenal job with the ball, but they could not put on a great show with the bat. Sibonelo Makhanya and Donavon Ferreira were the only batters who scored runs and put on a partnership and got Titans really close. But the run out of Donavon Ferreira was probably the turning point. They will be disappointed with their performance, however, they should keep their heads high and be proud of the way they have played throughout the tournament.
A scintillating bowling performance from Rocks. They put on a disappointing show with the bat, but they put their best foot forward with the ball and defended a below-par total. They have played as a team today and have got the desired result. All the bowlers were right on cue. The spinners started off well, by grabbing early wickets and troubling the batters. Siyabonga Mahima, Imran Manack and Hardus Viljoen were the bowlers who grabbed two wickets each and they made sure not to leak too many runs. Rocks started the tournament by losing their first two games, but they have come back stronger than ever and defeated the best team in the league in the mega final of this CSA T20 Challenge 2022.
ROCKS ARE THE CHAMPIONS OF THE CSA T20 CHALLENGE 2022! What a cracker of a game this was! A nail-biter, but it was Rocks who came out on top at the end. Titans played their best cricket throughout the tournament, but they failed to carry their momentum in the big final. While Rocks were shaky at the start of the tournament, but they showed courage and resilience towards the end and have been crowned as winners today.
