Earlier in the game, Team Abu Dhabi put up a decent score on the board courtesy of some brilliant hitting by King. He scored 64 runs from 27 balls and brought the momentum in his team’s favour going into the second half. For the Bulls, Maqsood was superb with the ball but Bravo gave away 25 runs in the last over. In the end, we got a thriller here with Bravo again failing to do the job in the last over, this time with the bat.
Team Abu Dhabi could not start well with the ball but pulled things back nicely in the middle overs. Butt got two crucial wickets and Tye also bowled well. Things went wrong for them when Paul and Wasim got going at the backend but then Butt got an important wicket of Paul in the penultimate over and Naveen-ul-Haq bowled a good last over to make this game a tie.
The chase started with Banton and Rossouw coming out all guns blazing in the first couple of covers. Rossouw departed in the third over and the Bulls kept losing wickets after that but were never really too behind the required rate. The wicket of David did bring some pressure on them but Paul and Wasim hit a few lusty blows to put them back in the driver’s seat. Paul departed at a wrong time for Bulls and with 13 needed from the last over, Bravo and Wasim did everything they could do to win this one, but failed to get that one extra run.
Oh, my word! We have got a tie here! What a match, an absolute thriller! Both teams will feel that they should have cross the line here but that is how the game works and both teams will share the points as we have a Super Over only in the Playoffs for this competition.
