On the other hand South Africa, were poor with the new ball conceding 87 runs in the first 10 overs. Tahir who picked four wickets and some brilliance in the field from the skipper AB de Villiers changed the game for the Proteas. They kept chipping away with important wickets which stopped the run flow of the Sri Lankans and 300 proved to be too much for them in the end.
So, Sri Lanka after being 90 for 1 in 11 overs have been bundled out for 203 runs. Sri Lanka were well on course to chase down the score when Niroshan Dickwella and Upul Tharanga were batting. Tharanga scored a hard fought fifty but did not get any support from the middle order. The Islanders suffered a mini collapse in between, losing 5 wickets for 60 runs.

Imran Tahir To Nuwan Pradeep OUT!
OUT! That should do it! South Africa have a win in their tournament opener and it's come via a dominant performance. Tossed up on the stumps, Nuwan Pradeep lofts this in an attempt to clear the wide long on boundary. Didn't middle it at all as it's straight down the throat of JP Duminy, who takes a simple catch. Tahir gets his fourth of the game and SOUTH AFRICA WIN BY 96 RUNS!

Imran Tahir To Nuwan Pradeep
A bit of extra bounce for Imran Tahir. He pitches this on a shorter length and it turns back in, the wrong 'un, takes Pradeep by surprise and raps him on the gloves.

Flat, short and outside off, Nuwan off his back foot pushes it to the covers.

FOUR! Overpitched, in an attempt to score the yorker and it's been put away. Kusal Perera backs away and drills it past mid off to end the over with a boundary.

Similar shot, it's aerially through the covers. Just a single this time though.

Kagiso Rabada To Nuwan Pradeep
FOUR! Don't think he really meant to hit it there but he'll take it all the same. Rabada hurls it full and outside off, Pradeep awkwardly just chips it over the covers. It races away to the fence, beating the chasing fielders.

On a shortish length again, angling down, Pradeep makes room and without even looking at the ball, wildly swings, only to miss horribly.

Ooohhhh....... That's *just* missed! Rabada drops this on a length on middle and it jags back in heavily. Goes past the inside edge and just over the stumps before thudding into Quinton de Kock's gloves.
Nuwan Pradeep is the last man in for Sri Lanka.

Kagiso Rabada To Lasith Malinga OUT!
OUT! He's dragged it back on! Rabada gets his first of the match. Bowls it on a back of a length around off, Malinga makes room to slap it over the off side but ends up getting a big inside edge. It goes on to hit the stumps and that's another wicket down. South Africa are just one step away from victory.

Chris Morris To Suranga Lakmal OUT!
OUT! There goes another and its that man Tahir who gets a direct hit from mid on at the strikers end. You can't keep him out of the action. Back of a length ball, Lakmal slaps it to mid on and sets of for a run, Perera does not respond and sends him back. Tahir picks up tha ball and hits the stumps at the strikers end. The umpire goes upstaris to check weather he is out and he is short off the crease. The third umpire give it out.
