Right then! It brings us to the close of this run-fest. What this win has done is, it has kept the tri-series alive and kicking with each team winning one and losing the other. This is going to be fun. The 4th match is between Sri Lanka and India at the same venue on 12th March at 1900 Local (1330 GMT). Will Sri Lanka be able to recover from this defeat? Will the Indians take their revenge for their opening loss? We shall find out. Before we leave, you can catch some Test cricket action from the ongoing South Africa-Australia series. Until then, it's goodbye from us. Cheers!
Victorious Bangladesh skipper, Mahmudullah starts by saying it was a game of nerves and is happy to come out on top. Reckons his decision to bowl first paid off. Credits his openers for giving them a good solid start and then continues to praise Rahim for taking them over the line. On sending Das ahead of Sarkar, he informs they had a feeling that Sri Lanka might bring Akila Dananjaya early and hence the decision.
Sri Lanka skipper, Dinesh Chandimal calls it a good game of cricket. Admits that Bangladesh were the better team but doesn't lose hope. He is confident of his boys coming back strong. Feels the wicket was excellent for batting as it remained the same throughout the course of the match. Opines they didn't execute their plans while bowling but is once again hopeful of doing better in the next game.
Man of the Match, Mushfiqur Rahim thanks the Almighty first up. He is short of words at the moment and can't believe to have taken his team over the line. States they needed this win badly. Gives it to Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das for setting it up. Dedicates this knock to his newly born son. Informs he has recovered from the cramp that he suffered while batting.
Sri Lanka, well, they will be really disappointed with their effort with the ball. The batters once again did their job but the bowling just couldn't come to the fore. All their bowlers were found wanting against the onslaught and their figures show how they wilted under pressure. Perera was good to start with, but the no ball that he bowled in his third over just took him off his radar. A lot of work to do for the Lankans as this loss will take some time for them to digest. Roshan Abeysinghe is ready with the presentation...
As it is said there comes a stage when the game doesn't take time to turn on its head. With just 22 needed from 16 balls, Mahmudullah departed and Sabbir Rahman's run out followed next. It all came down to 19 from the last 2 overs but a cool-headed Rahim didn't panic and safely gunned the 4th highest successful run chase in T20Is. His scintillating knock of an unbeaten 72 from 35 balls comprised of 5 fours and 4 sixes, stupendous stuff!
However, Sri Lanka through Perera and Pradeep, got back in the game as they were able to get rid of both the openers in quick time. Bangladesh then needed 112 in 60 balls and then arrived the veteran, Mushfiqur Rahim. He looked confident from the moment he stepped in and wasn't afraid to play his natural game. Firstly, he got some assistance from Sarkar (who was struggling) and then with his skipper, Mahmudullah. The quickfire 42-run stand with the latter somewhat tilted the game in their favor.
After being thrashed and swatted around the park in the first innings, the visitors needed a blazing start. An inspiring move to send Liton Das ahead of Sarkar to open the innings with Tamim Iqbal worked wonders. The duo did just what Sri Lanka did in the series opener against India - taking the attack to the opposition in the Powerplay. 74/1 is what they got in the first 6 overs and that set the tone for the run chase.
What a match, what a chase! Mushfiqur Rahim, please take a bow! He has got every reason to show his emotions and he isn't shy of doing it. The entire Bangladesh team barges towards him for a hug. Epic scenes in Colombo and this win will be a big boost to Bangladesh's confidence.

Thisara Perera To Mushfiqur Rahim
BANGLADESH HAVE PULLED OFF THEIR HIGHEST SUCCESSFUL RUN CHASE IN T20IS! The little man has done it for his side! Rahim is all charged up, he lets out a huge roar right in the face of Perera and then does a cobra dance by looking at his dugout. Ball - A low full toss on middle, clipped away through mid-wicket by Mushfiqur to see his side through.

Thisara Perera To Mushfiqur Rahim
Sloppy from Gunathilaka and the scores are level now! Very full on middle, Rahim smartly nudges it with soft hands towards mid on and calls for two. Danushka charges towards the ball from long on but he takes his eyes off the ball and ends up conceding another. Right then, Bangladesh can't lose now. Will he go for the glory hit?

Thisara Perera To Mushfiqur Rahim
FOUR! Away shes goes! Good length ball, sprayed wider outside off, Rahim makes room but then realizes he has to reach out for that one. He does and gets it over backward point for a boundary. The Bangladesh dugout is all pumped up. What's coming up next?

Thisara Perera To Mushfiqur Rahim
Fuller in length and outside off, Rahim makes room and pierces it past the diving cover fielder. Once it beat the fielder there, it seemed like a boundary but there is Akila Dananjaya in the deep who keeps them down to a couple.
9 to get off the final 6 balls. Last-over thriller is what we have. Thisara Perera is given the responsibility. Rahim on strike.

Nuwan Pradeep To Mushfiqur Rahim
SIX! That will do! That will do! Rahim, what a hit! Pradeep flings a full toss on the stumps! Any guesses what the next result is? Rahim deposits it high and handsome over the deep mid-wicket fence for half a dozen.

Nuwan Pradeep To Mehidy Hasan
Could have been another run out here! Hasan swings wildly across the line, it goes off the pads towards point. The fielder has a shy at the striker's end but he misses. A leg bye taken.

Nuwan Pradeep To Sabbir Rahman OUT!
OUT! Bull's eye! Brilliant from Thisara, lazy from Sabbir! Very full on off, Sabbir drives it towards mid off and sets off. Perera collects the ball and scores a direct hit at the bowler's end as Sabbir just gives up. Still they refer it upstairs and replays find Sabbir well short of his crease.
Bull's eye from Thisara Perera. He has knocked the stumps at the bowler's end and Sabbir Rahman seems to be a goner here. In fact, he is already walking off.

Dushmantha Chameera To Mahmudullah OUT!
OUT! In the air... gone! Chameera with a breakthrough! The crowd has found its voice back. Turning point in this chase? Let's wait and see. Chameera does Mahmudullah in with a slower ball who swings early and ends up dragging it on the inner half over square leg. Kusal Mendis from deep square leg sprints in and takes a wonderful catch. 22 needed off 15 balls.
