That's a wrap! Delhi have pulled off what seemed almost impossible at the start of this evening. Wins over the MI and the RCB give them valuable momentum at a crucial stage of the tournament. The WPL now takes a one-day break and returns on Monday, 26 January 2026, with Mumbai Indians taking on Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Action begins at 2 pm GMT (7.30 pm IST), but tune in early for the build-up. Cheers!
Player of the Match Marizanne Kapp (2/17 and 19*) starts by saying that she does not feel it is going that well for her yet and adds that she is still finding her rhythm. Tells that she loves the challenge of bowling in the Powerplay, and feels that she tends to bowl better under pressure. Admits that she is still annoyed about the overstepping, admitting she would have been upset if Smriti had gone on to score big, but feels fortunate that it did not cost the team too much. States that this year, the pitch has not been easy to bowl on. She also feels the side is building momentum, with different players beginning to step up, and hopes they continue to improve with every game.
Captain of DC - Jemimah Rodrigues gives credit to the team for continuing to believe and execute their plans. She says they came under pressure while Smriti Mandhana was batting, but points to a good catch that shifted the momentum. Praises Minnu Mani for an excellent effort and lauds the effort of Marizanne Kapp as well. Shares that the constant message was to keep attacking the stumps and feels that the performance today says a lot about the character of the side. Jokes that she has not picked up any white hair yet and is really enjoying the captaincy. Reminds us of the previous game against RCB where she held Kapp back, and adds that she did not repeat that today. She has taken it as a learning.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
A quick chat -  Laura Wolvaardt says that it is great to win two in a row. Adds that they got off to a shaky start but are pulling things back at the right time. Mentions that Jemimah Rodrigues was much better in this game, and she is always improving in her captaincy. Says that to bring back Marizanne Kapp for her fourth over at that time was excellent and calls her a fine communicator. Shares that she wanted to play as straight as possible, and they knew that the only way for RCB to win this was by picking wickets. Says that fielding is an area she always tries to improve, and it was good to take these catches. Ends by saying that if she does get to bowl, she will bowl some off-spin.
Captain of RCB Smriti Mandhana says that in tournaments like this, you take these kinds of losses before the playoffs. Adds that it was just an off day and they will take the positives from this game. Mentions that the wicket here keeps changing, the last game it kept a bit low, and here it was a bit spongy. Tells that 140-plus would have been a good total, but credits her bowlers for taking the game deep. Says that they need to work on their fielding and batting going ahead. Admits that they know they were sloppy in the field, and the girls will work harder. She reckons if they'd managed to get 3-4 wickets in Powerplay, they could have had a shot. Praises Sayali Satghare and Lauren Bell, and reminds that they have been excellent with the new ball, and she ends by saying that they need to work on a few things and will come back stronger in the next one.
Calm and composed chasing - Delhi Capitals were well aware of the bowling quality in the Bengaluru ranks and chose to take the aggressive route. Shafali Verma came out all guns blazing to set the early tone. Although a couple of wickets briefly slowed the charge, the partnership between Jemimah Rodrigues and Laura Wolvaardt kept the opposition at bay. Laura (42*) stayed unbeaten through the chase, while Marizanne Kapp (19*) applied the finishing touches. Their cause was also helped along by some sloppy catching from RCB.
Tidy bowling by DC -  With their backs against the wall and playoff hopes hanging by a thread, Delhi Capitals turned up in full force. Once they seized the initiative in the field, they never let the pressure slip and kept RCB firmly under their thumb. The bowling was neat and disciplined, with every bowler among the wickets apart from Sneh Rana. Nandini Sharma led the charge, finishing with 3 for 26 from her four overs to claim the Purple Cap.
Below-par batting show - An evening to forget for RCB. Nothing went their way from the toss onwards, and the strengths that had carried them through the season all deserted them at once. Apart from Smriti Mandhana, the scorecard told a story of struggle. There was no momentum, no fluency, and from 62 for 1, it quickly unravelled into a free fall, with RCB imploding to a paltry total, their lowest in WPL.
STOP THE PRESS! Delhi Capitals have brought the winning juggernaut of Royal Challengers Bengaluru to a halt. And it is not just a win, it is an emphatic statement against the table-toppers. With the chase wrapped up inside the 18th over, Delhi leap to second on the points table. Mumbai Indians were taken down earlier, and now the RCB as well. Vadodara is quickly turning into a happy hunting ground for Delhi.
