And that's a wrap on today's game! Pakistan Champions secured their second win, moving to second place, while South Africa Champions suffered their first loss and will look to bounce back in their next match. The World Championship of Legends continues to thrill, with a packed doubleheader schedule for Saturday, July 26. Catch India Champions take on Australia Champions at 11.30 am GMT, followed by Pakistan Champions vs West Indies Champions at 3.30 pm GMT. Tune in early for pre-match excitement and all the other action. Until next time, stay safe, and keep cheering!
Mohammad Hafeez, the skipper of Pakistan Champions, says that everyone played well. Adds that they were targeting for the 200 run mark and the batters did really well. He says that everyone gave their best and the pitch had good assistance for the batters. Ends by saying that Shahid Afridi i9s recovering and he will make it n the team soon.
Aaron Phangiso, the skipper of South Africa Champions, says that they leaked too many runs and Pakistan Champions played really well. Adds that the bowlers need to work on and they will bounce back stronger.
Umar Amin is the Player of the Match. He says that he has played for Leicestershire and it has been fun playing here. Adds that Shoaib Malik was guiding him throughout the game. Ends by saying that the crowd was excellent as well.
Presentations coming up...
Earlier in the match, Pakistan Champions scored 198, with Umar Amin top-scoring with 58. Amin and Shoaib Malik formed a crucial partnership. Asif Ali's cameo of 23 and Aamer Yamin's 11 boosted the total. Duanne Olivier was the best bowler for South Africa Champions, taking 2 wickets for 19 runs in 3 overs. JP Duminy, Hardus Viljoen, and Wayne Parnell each took a wicket.
For Pakistan Champions, the Spinners dominated with Mohammad Hafeez (2/21 in 4 overs), Shoaib Malik (1/18 in 3 overs), and Imad Wasim (1/20 in 3 overs) causing the damage. They were excellent from the word go. All of their bowlers at least picked up a wicket and they used a total of seven bowlers throughout.
A convincing victory for the Pakistan Champions! They were off to a shaky start and their chase of 198 was hindered by regular falling of wickets. Hashim Amla and JJ Smuts started really slow and fell quickly. The wickets kept on falling and they just couldn't recover. Morne van Wyk scoring an unbeaten 44 towards the end and Wayne Parnell contributing 21 were the only bright spots.
