Phew! A triple ton, a five-for, a Pakistan collapse, an 8-fer and 346 almost being chased. One can safely say the first ever D/N Test in Asia has been nothing short of entertaining. Been a brilliant game this for all of us. Hope you enjoyed our coverage. The second Test begins on October 21 in Abu Dhabi at 1130 IST. Until then, it's goodbye and cheers!
Pakistan skipper, MISBAH-UL-HAQ says he thinks this is the beauty of the game. Adds that the way his side is playing, they are keeping the interest in Test cricket alive. Credits Yasir Shah for the way he bowled and also the West Indies team for the way they batted in the second innings. Gives special mention to Darren Bravo for his superb batting display in both innings. States that you can't really blame the pitch only, that the pink ball is new and the day/night conditions are different so it can't be judged how it will affect the play and the players. Says the pitch played slowly in the first three days and then in the last two days, Yasir and others got something out of the track. Mentions that it's always good if they play cricket like this, especially for the youngsters as this type of game will help them develop for the future. Credits the West Indies for playing well and hopes that they can give them another tough contest in the 2nd Test. (On Younis Khan) He says he practiced hard and the kind of person he is, he will be 100 percent if he is playing, so it's good to have him back. Ends by thanking the crowd for their support, especially on the final day as it went real close.
West Indies skipper, JASON HOLDER says it was a wonderful fight from his boys but is disappointed they couldn't get the result they wanted. Gives credit to Pakistan for the way they played. Hails Bishoo's spell of 8 wickets and says he did really well. States there are lots of positives for them. He says that he just wanted his batsmen to get them off to a start but unfortunately Samuels got out as he was the main guy for them. Once again credits Pakistan for the way they played. (On Darren Bravo) Mentions that it is very heartwarming to see the way he played and thought he would hang in there to see them through, so is obviously disappointed to see that didn't happen. States that Yasir Shah was pretty dangerous bowling off the rough and looked threatening. Ends by saying that it was a good match.
Man of the Match, AZHAR ALI says he wants to thank the Almighty first off. Adds that the pink ball experience was different, that only playing in different conditions will you get a feel of it. (On his triple ton) States that he doesn't think of such milestones and just looks to play his natural game. (When asked about playing under pressure) Responds by saying that playing under pressure makes him push harder and it's the job of every professional to give it their all no matter what the situation. Ends by saying that he will try to perform his best for his team at any given time.
West Indies came back strongly in the game with Devendra Bishoo taking 8 for 49. Pakistan were bowled out for a paltry score of 123 setting West Indies a target of 346. On the final day, one expected Pakistan to win clinically but once again it was Bravo who led West Indies with a vigilant 116. Pakistan were pushed to the walls and it took a contribution from everyone to seal the game in the last hour. Holder remained stranded for a well fought 40 but could not stop Pakistan from taking a 1-0 lead in the 3-match series.
What a memorable Test this has been! Fair to say D/N Test has made a pretty good debut in Asia! Pakistan have won their 400th Test! They dominated the Test for the first three days, thanks to a brilliant triple ton from Azhar Ali. West Indies responded with a fine effort. Bravo scored 87 but could not stop Pakistan from taking a 222-run lead. Yasir Shah was the star of the first innings as he took 5/121. With the amount of bowling done, Pakistan did not enforce the follow-on despite the huge lead.

Yasir Shah To Jason Holder OUT!
OUT! HEARTBREAK FOR THE WINDIES! At a stage it looked like they could win it, let alone get a draw. Shocking turn of events for the visiting side. Ecstasy all around for Pakistan though and it's primed on Misbah's face. Yasir Shah hugs Sarfraz as Holder hangs his head in disappointment. It's on the pads, Holder flicks it down towards short fine leg and both batsmen set off for a single. Babar Azam is the man there and he quickly fires a throw at Sarfraz who whips the bails off in a jiffy. The dive put in by Shannon Gabriel is of no use as he falls extremely short. PAKISTAN HAVE WON THIS MATCH BY 56 RUNS AND LEAD THE SERIES 1-0!
