Pakistan are still unbeaten in this tournament. They are close to the semi-final berth. A lot of work to be done for Ireland Under-19! That is all from this game. The third game of the day, Sri Lanka vs West Indies is going on. That game is turning out to be a thriller. Don't miss the ending, so switch the tabs and join us there. Cheers!
Saad Baig says he didn't expect the ball to turn so much in the second innings but Ahmad Hassan did the job in the end. Adds they will learn a lot from this game and rectify their mistakes. Reckons their next game is very important as anything can happen in cricket and they will try and play good cricket. Ends by crediting the way Ahmad Hassan played.
Philippus le Roux says he is disappointed to come on the losing side but is happy with how the bowlers bowled. Adds they struggled with the bat but credit to the way Pakistan bowled, they constantly took wickets. On Harry Dyer, he was exceptional with his all-round performance. Not a complete performance but lot of positives to take.
Ahmad Hassan wins the Player of the Match award. He says he just tried to implement what he did in the practise sessions. Adds the ball was spinning but they just needed a partnership in the middle and it came for them. On his bowling, he kept it simple and got swing early on as well, so is happy to get wickets.
...Presentation...
For Pakistan, it was all about a couple of good innings or partnerships and they got that. Hassan was the star with a half ton and rest batter around him. If it wasn’t for him things could have been different but a solid knock from him has helped hai side get a hard fought victory. Pakistan kept on losing wickets at regular and it made it difficult for them throughout the game. Credit to Ireland Under-19 for the way they bowled and to make most of this low score. A really good bowling performance by Harry Dyer who with four wickets kept the hopes alive but as said before, Ireland Under-19 were short of runs.
The chase wasn’t as easy as we thought it would be but Pakistan have got over the line and they’ll be pretty pleased with it. We expected them to cruise through to be honest but credit to the Irish bowlers for making it tough for the Pakistan batters. They managed to pick wickets at regular intervals but they just did not have enough runs on the board.
