What if we have had an early finish here but there is more cricketing action that you can follow. There is second Ashes Test along with the third and final Test between India and Sri Lanka going on and you can catch all the action just by switching tabs. Until next time, it is goodbye from us! Have a great week ahead, peeps.
That is it from us for this game. The Kiwis have steamrolled the Windies. The tourists have a lot to think about. They will have to regroup and come out well-prepared in the next game if they are to level the series. The home side, on the other hand, would look to carry the momentum forward and seal the series. Will we see a repeated story in the next one or will the Windies pull a rabbit out of the hat? All that will be answered when these two meet next in Hamilton on the 9th of December, 2017 at 1100 LOCAL (2200 GMT).
New Zealand skipper, Kane Williamson is delighted with the win. Adds it was a complete team effort. Opines that it was a great Test wicket with pace and bounce on it. Credits the bowlers for their lines and lengths. Praises Wagner for his bowling in the first innings. Appreciates his batsmen for their efforts as it was needed to get a big lead. Lauds Tom Blundell for having a good debut game. Admits the Windies did come out fighting and if they would have taken it deep into day 5, it would have been tricky. Finishes by saying, how they adapt to the conditions will be the key for the next game as the pitch there won't be the same.
West Indian skipper, Jason Holder says they knew what is coming their way when Wagner was bowling. He feels they have to find a way to be a lot more positive against the short ball ploy. Mentions they got better as the game progressed. Credits his bowlers as they bowled their hearts out. Ruins the no balls that they bowled and the chances dropped by them eventually cost them the game. Hopes to come back hard in the next Test.
Man of the Match, Neil Wagner is really satisfied with his performance but reckons that the wicket got better and better. Further adds the bowlers bowled really well in partnerships. Mentions there was no real swing on offer and they had to change their plans and it all paid off in the end. Credits West Indies for the fight they showed in the second innings. Admits they had to re-adjust their plans after yesterday. Ends by saying that the Basin Reserve is not an easy place to take 20 wickets but their bowlers did really well to bowl the opposition out.
Now the writing seemed to be on the wall for the visitors. But what caught everyone's attention was their approach. Their openers once again provided a blazing start only for Hetmyer to come and chip in next. They ended Day 2 with only two wickets down and gave an impression that they ain't going down without putting up a fight. However, once the overnight pair of Brathwaite and Hope was broken this morning, the NZ bowlers ran through the rest of the batting line-up within a session and a half to give the home side a 1-0 lead in the series. Time for presentation...
With nothing much on the board, the Windies needed wickets and that too in heaps. But that was not the case, as all the New Zealand batsmen flourished on a wicket which got better for batting with each passing day. The wickets off no balls and dropped catches did not help the tourists' cause either. First it was the Taylor-Nicholls partnership, with the former missing out on a ton by 7 runs and then the Colin de Grandhomme-Blundell stand just took the game beyond their reach. Both of them scored respective tons and broke a couple of records as well. The former scored the 2nd fastest Test ton for NZ, while the keeper-batsman, scored a century on debut which saw their side take a massive lead of 386 runs.
Earlier in the match, Kane Williamson won the toss on a green wicket and put the away side into bat. Brathwaite and Powell gave an ideal start to the Windies but there is nothing much to say regarding their batting after that. Day 1 was all about one man - Neil Wagner, who was just lethal with his barrage of short balls. His introduction into the attack meant that West Indies slipped from 59/1 to 134 all out. He was the tormentor-in-chief as he a bagged a 7-fer, which also happens to be his career-best figures in an innings.
A dominating performance from the Kiwis have seen them kick off their summer on the right note. They didn't take long today to wrap things up with every bowler chipping away at the wickets. Matt Henry was the star for them in this innings as he bagged three wickets, on a surface which was very good for batting. The West Indian batsmen couldn't keep up the good work of yesterday and surrendered meekly after the lunch break today.

Trent Boult To Miguel Cummins OUT!
OUT! BOWLED 'EM! It was just a matter of time. Cummins was swinging at everything and he finally misses one. Boult keeps it simple - full, straight and on the stumps. Miguel makes room and tries to slog it blindly. He misses and the ball hits timber. That is it then! NEW ZEALAND WIN BY AN INNINGS AND 67 RUNS!

Bangs it in on off, comes in with the angle. Gabriel is late to react and the ball hits him on the elbow guard. Lucky he was wearing a protective gear as that would have hurt.

Cummins is down on the ground! Boult bowls an inswinger on middle. Cummins looks to flick but in doing so, the bat hits his pad and the ball then comes back in to ping him flush on the thigh. He immediately moves away, drops his bat and is down on the ground in agony.
